TBN Founder Paul Crouch Sr Died
Crouch died on Saturday. After he died, I noticed a lot of my TBN related posts became some of the most-read ones.
I usually don’t like to say negative stuff after someone dies, but… I’m sorry if this is awful, but….
Part of me is glad he has passed on. I do NOT hate the guy or anything, but his justifications of money grubbing really bothered me, and he did it often on TBN.
Even up until Crouch Sr. died, he regularly hosted several of the TBN shows, such as “Behind the Scenes,” where he would mis-use Old Testament passages about Levitical tithing to con Gentile believers today out of their cash.
I will not miss that at all.
I am sorry for his family and what all.
But it bothered me seeing a Word of Faith guy sit there on TV trying to pry little old ladies out of their funds by using deceptive WOF teachings and abusing Old Testament passages.
Ever since Crouch Sr. died on Saturday, TBN has been devoting a lot of air time to his biography, life story… I understand airing at least several minutes to him, since he’s gone, but it’s always bothered me how TBN airs Crouch family stuff so often.
They are supposed to be airing material about Jesus Christ, not the Crouch family – yes, even in the midst of the founder dying.

In the Big Picture the self aggrandizement of so many in the mega church and Christian television industry/business is all about the arrogance that God hates.
The demanding Ego that must be rewarded (financially) and NOW!
The What’s in it for ME! ministries that are so popular amongst the non-judgmental “I’m OK – Your O.K.” entrenched emergent Church.
They demand to get their reward Now, and insist there is more on the way for them in Eternity.
Even to the point of declaring “”God owes me!”
It is a mystery as to how could such a person (claiming to be a believer) be happy in Eternity.
God is after all a rational God – and Heaven is to be populated with irrationally arrogant ego-centric Christians?
If this is the meaning of “…On earth as it is in heaven” would heaven not become Hell and be indistinguishable from the Church mentioned in II Timothy 3 ?
In these later days we see the Leaders in control of Christian Television mass media presenting – whatever the audience demands.
How is that spreading the gospel? Which gospel?
Before the days of Mass Media there were public means to hold accountable such men who would spread vastly different interpretations of Scripture just to please a paying audience.
The seriousness of the situation is dismissed with claims that “God is forgiving even if we make mistakes in his ministry” Should we call this “No Fear of God Christianity”?
Matthew 7:21 – 23
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. “Many” will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
(Jesus was speaking to people in Ministry – he was saying this will happen to “MANY” not to a few.)
