Father confesses to killing 5 South Carolina children who went missing

- Timothy Jones Jr. is awaiting extradition from Mississippi to South Carolina after the bodies of his five children, ages 1 to 8, were found along a highway in Alabama on Tuesday. The children were reported missing by their mother on Sept. 3.
The father of five South Carolina children whose bodies were recovered in Alabama Tuesday confessed to dumping the corpses in garbage bags off a rural highway after his arrest for possession of controlled substances, authorities said.
Timothy Jones Jr., 32, was taken into custody shortly after a search of his license plate by a Smith County deputy linked him to his children, ages 1 to 8, who were reported missing on Sept. 3, said the sheriff’s office.
