Yeesh. If you are single, want to be married, and ever feel lousy or discouraged about being single still, you might want to check out the movie “Gone Girl.”
Or not. It may forever discourage you from dating ever again, LOL – which is why I put “maybe watch it” in the subject heading of this post.
What a creepy movie.
I saw it tonight because it came on one of the cable TV channels I get.
It stars Ben Afflec (however his name is spelled) married to some blonde lady. This movie contains twists and turns.
You start out feeling bad for the wife, because the husband looks like a cheating, insensitive, selfish, lazy, jerk.
But then as the movie goes on, you learn the blonde wife is no prize, either. You then also feel sorry for the husband as you start learning more about the sicko wife.
The wife turns out to be a psycho – she’s worse than the Affleck character, but I can say I would not want to be married to his character either.
The wife does some far worse sins in the course of the movie (such as slit a man’s throat, killing him, for one thing), but Affleck is a cheating, selfish weasel.
I would not be to be married to that guy, as it would be a loveless, unfulfilling marriage.
Any way, my feeling during this movie (and after), was, “This is one of those times when being single and staying single looks like the saner, safer option!!”
If you are a single who is bummed out about spending another Valentine’s Day alone, this may be the movie for you. It makes staying or being single look so much better than being married or in a relationship. It may SCARE YOU AWAY from dating ever again.
The married guy in this movie figures out as time goes by that his blonde wife is a killing psycho. She comes back home later in the movie.
The husband is so afraid of his blonde wife (he figures out she slit the throat of the other guy), he won’t sleep in the same room as her after that. He sleeps in a guest room down the hall at night in their home, with a light on, sitting up in a chair all night, with the door locked. And he’s physically larger than she is.
GONE GIRL – directed by David Fincher and based upon the global bestseller by Gillian Flynn – unearths the secrets at the heart of a modern marriage.
On the occasion of his fifth wedding anniversary, Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck) reports that his beautiful wife, Amy (Rosamund Pike), has gone missing.
Under pressure from the police and a growing media frenzy, Nick’s portrait of a blissful union begins to crumble. Soon his lies, deceits and strange behavior have everyone asking the same dark question: Did Nick Dunne kill his wife? (c) Fox
That movie is just the perfect sales pitch for staying single. Yikes. Disturbing movie.
