I wrote a review (or critique) of this book a few months ago. In my review, I noted it was a variation on the old conservative saw to blame feminism for why single women are having a difficult time getting dates or getting married.
I disagree. I lived life as a June Cleaver house-wife type (meaning, though I was single, I very docile, passive, sweet, ladylike) for decades, and I never got married.
Being a conservative ideal of a woman is not a guarantee you’re going to get dates or get married, so my fellow conservatives can kindly stop promoting that view.
So, as it turns out, a man – yes, a man – wrote the “anti feminist” book with Tantaros’ name on it, telling women if they want to get a man and keep one, to ditch their independence, their agency, and behave like doormats.

Former Fox News starlet Andrea Tantaros made a name of herself in the conservative echelons of cable news punditry by (Link): blaming feminists for everything from the decline of marriage to statutory rape.
So when her book Tied Up in Knots: How Getting What We Wanted Made Women Miserable was released last year it seemed par for the course that she would dedicate hundreds of pages to how she— a capable, self-sufficient, feminine anti-feminist— was so much better off than her feminist counterparts.
Thursday, Tantaros’ illusive image of a self-made anti-feminist was shattered when a federal judge in New York unsealed a lawsuit by a man [Michael Krechmer] who claims the former Fox News pundit offered him $150,000 to ghostwrite the book.

Michael Malice, a frequent Fox News commentator, filed a federal suit against Tantaros in October 2016, claiming that she failed to pay him for his work authoring her book, “Tied Up in Knots.” The suit has remained under seal since then due to a confidentiality agreement, but U.S. District Judge Katherine Forrest recently ordered the case unsealed.
Malice, whose legal name is Michael Krechmer, alleges that Tantaros agreed to pay him $150,000 to write the book. At the time, they entered into a confidentiality agreement. Malice contends that Tantaros was afraid that her publisher, Harper Collins, might cancel the book if her editor discovered that she was not writing it herself.

A New York federal judge has decided to lift the veil off of a case captioned as [Under Seal] v. [Under Seal]. It turns out that Michael Krechmer is suing former Fox News personality Andrea Tantaros for allegedly breaching an agreement for a ghostwriter for the book, Tied Up in Knots.

Krechmer filed his lawsuit in in October 2016, and amazingly, it’s only coming to light now. There’s a reason for this.
According to an opinion and order from U.S. District Court judge Katherine Forrest on Thursday, Krechmer and Tantaros entered into a collaboration agreement in May, 2015. The deal included a confidentiality provision. Krechmer alleges that a couple months later, the two agreed to terminate the agreement in favor of a new “Ghostwriting Agreement,” where he’d be paid a flat fee of $150,000.
But the later was an oral deal. Tantaros allegedly did not want to negotiate a deal with Krechmer’s agent because she “feared” it would “cause her editor to discover that she was not writing the book herself” and the book’s publisher, Harper Collins, “would cancel the book if they discovered that there were any negative issues in the writing process, particularly since she was already running more than two years behind schedule.”
