There Were Times When Turner Went Without Sex For A Year

There were times when Tina Turner went without sex for a year at time, partly because she was terrified of how her partners might react to her wigs in bed.
“I was never one of those women who had to have sex no matter what,” Turner, 78, wrote in her upcoming memoir “My Love Story,” (Link): excerpted by People. “There have been times when I’ve gone up to a year without it, to be honest.”
“Don’t laugh, but I’ve always been a little nervous about starting a relationship with a new man because I didn’t know how my wig would be received,” the “Proud Mary” singer, born Anna Mae Bullock, confessed in the tome. “As much as I loved the convenience and easy beauty, I always ran the risk of meeting a man who might have a problem becoming romantically involved with Tina, with her bountiful hair and glamorous trimmings, but waking up with unadorned Anna Mae. What if he were disappointed by the real me?”
….“I have never been a sex-driven person, it has never been a priority for me. After my first marriage, I didn’t have many men in my life, sex was not important. I didn’t sleep around. I was celibate for a year at a time until I met Erwin [her current husband],” Turner (Link): told The Daily Mail over the weekend.
