Kyle Rittenhouse – False Reportage, Media Mistakes

Much of the American coverage of the Rittenhouse story was so false and designed to fit into a liberal, far left narrative, that errors were made – details were either wrong or omitted (if the details made Rittenhouse look good).

The media coverage of Rittenhouse was so bad, so inaccurate (just like the Covington kid a few years ago), that during the trial, which was televised live, was the first time that many of his critics were, for the first time, hearing what really happened, and, the honest ones admitted in their tweets or articles that they had earlier got Rittenhouse wrong.

Some of the international media coverage was so bad, that this egregious mistake was apparently made: for some time, some international outlets were INCORRECTLY reporting that the men Rittenhouse shot were black men – they were not; they were white men.

Whether this was deliberate or an honest misunderstanding, I do not know, but it probably influenced how some people viewed Rittenhouse or what happened in Kenosha.

A lot of the liberal narrative did not mention in reportage that Rittenhouse was acting in self defense, that one or two of the guys were going to draw their firearms to kill him (one later admitted after the fact that yes, that is what he was trying to do and he wish he had murdered Rittenhouse), one guy, Huber, was beating Rittenhouse over the head with his skateboard (which can, yes, result in death, or in the man being able to knock Rittenhouse out to take his firearm if he so chooses).

Yet other media neglected to mention that some of the men shot and killed by Rittenhouse – in self defense – had criminal backgrounds.

One of the men, Joseph Rosenbaum, was a serial child rapist.

What I read a few months back is that Rosenbaum had dated single women with children for the express purpose of gaining access to the children so he could molest or rape them, which he did. (I doubt any or many of those victims mind that he was taken out by Rittenhouse.)

You can read more about the errors and biases that tarnished the media coverage at the links below:

Newly released Joseph Rosenbaum sex offender documents obtained by Wisconsin Right Now from the Pima County (Arizona) Clerk of Courts confirm Joseph Rosenbaum was charged by a grand jury with 11 counts of child molestation and inappropriate sexual activity around children, including anal rape.

The victims were five boys ranging in age from nine to 11 years old.

At trial, these assertions didn’t materialize.

No, the Washington Post admitted, there wasn’t any evidence tying Rittenhouse to white supremacists.

No, the gun didn’t actually cross state lines, as so much of the reporting around the trial suggested. No, he hadn’t been the one to fire the first shot.

No, even Gaige Grosskreutz, the third man whom Rittenhouse shot in self-defense, admitted that Rittenhouse hadn’t shot him until Grosskreutz pointed his own gun (for which he no longer had a valid concealed-carry permit) at Rittenhouse.

And, finally, yes, Kyle Rittenhouse had been acting in self-defense.

Most of this information was publicly available long before the trial, overlooked or ignored in favor of red herrings about race and the misdeeds of the former president. If Rittenhouse sues for defamation, it won’t come as a shock.

Excerpts (for more details, please use the link above):

The teenager [Rittenhouse] pleaded not guilty to all five counts and testified that he acted in self-defense, saying the men he shot were attacking him. He was acquitted on all counts.

      • Myth: Kyle Rittenhouse illegally brought a gun across state lines
      • Myth: Kyle Rittenhouse possessed the weapon illegally
      • Myth: Kyle Rittenhouse’s mother drove him to the protests in Kenosha
      • Unclear: The people Kyle Rittenhouse shot were protesters
      • Myth: Rittenhouse went downtown on August 25 to answer a ‘call to arms’ put out by a Kenosha militia group
      • Myth: Kyle Rittenhouse is a self-identified white nationalist

In our age of rage, Rittenhouse had to be convicted to fulfill the narrative. Acquittal has to be evidence of a racist justice system.

Social media took Disney’s “The Mandalorian” star Pedro Pascal to the woodshed after he tweeted a tribute to Joseph Rosenbaum, one of Kyle Rittenhouse’s attackers.

Rosenbaum, according to court documents was a convicted child rapist accused of anally raping children as young as 9 years old.

The persistent media falsehood that Kyle Rittenhouse was armed with an AR-15 style rifle when he “crossed state lines” before his deadly encounters in Kenosha, Wis., has led to multiple corrections and considerable mockery as the reckoning over misleading coverage of the trial continues.

What Insider called “perhaps the most persistent myth” around the case was peddled repeatedly in liberal media outlets, in print and on television, before and even during the trial.

It was established through testimony and police records that the rifle Rittenhouse used in the shootings of three people, two fatal, was already stored in Kenosha.

Several of his family members lived in Kenosha, and the AR-15 style rifle was bought for Rittenhouse by his friend Dominick Black and stored at his house.

The oft-used media line that he traveled across “state lines” gave off the impression he was an outsider who traveled from afar, when in reality he traveled less than a half hour to Kenosha from his town Antioch, Ill., just south of the state border.

Following Rittenhouse’s acquittal on all charges after he claimed self-defense in the case, CBS News correspondent Mark Strassman reported on Sunday’s “Face The Nation” that “Rittenhouse drove in from Illinois armed for battle,” leading the outlet to issue a correction and apology for its language.

He was hardly alone, though, with dozens of pundits repeating the phrase ad nauseam in the lead-up to and indeed during the case.

Ana Kasparian of the far-left Young Turks blasted Rittenhouse for having “crossed state lines with an illegal gun” earlier this month before correcting herself on a later show, saying it was important to have the “facts.”

Some mistakes are natural, but “when the sources of news keep getting things wrong, and all the errors lie in the exact same direction, and they are reluctant to acknowledge error, we have a problem,” warns Andrew Sullivan at his Substack.

Agenda-driven reporting on the Kenosha shootings “effectively excluded the possibility that [Kyle] Rittenhouse was a naive, dangerous fool . . . who, in the end, shot assailants in self-defense,” so testimony that he did just that “came as a shock.”

Add in the collapse of the Steele dossier: Donald Trump “was right, in the end, about the dodgy dossier; he was right about the duped FBI’s original overreach; and the mass media . . . were wrong. And yet the dossier dominated the headlines for three years, and the ‘corrections’ have a fraction of the audience of the errors.”

Add in the errors on the lab-leak theory, Jussie Smollett’s fictions and so much more: “All these false narratives just happen to favor the interests of the left and the Democratic Party.”

Legal expert: Rittenhouse Prosecutors’ Disaster
“What is most striking about the [Kyle Rittenhouse] trial is that, even more than a year later, prosecutors seem to be learning critical details at the same time as the jury,” Jonathan Turley fumes at The Hill.

Testimony described one of those he killed, Joseph Rosenbaum, “as threatening Rittenhouse and others and engaging in random violence;” prosecutors opened the door to the revelation that he “suffered from bipolar disorder.”

Gaige Grosskreutz admitted he was shot only after he “pointed his own 9mm handgun at Rittenhouse’s head.”

Indeed, “even the prosecution’s medical witness proved beneficial to the defense.”

The jurors may now acquit on all counts, “because the credibility of the prosecution is established by the lead charge,” and “if the first-degree charge is wildly out of reach, they are more likely to doubt the lesser charges, too.”

Rittenhouse did state a few weeks ago that he supports the BLM (“Black Lives Matter”) movement, but I do not, as they are a self-avowed Neo Marxist group; they are not about standing in opposition to racism (racism as understood in the Martin Luther King Jr world-view, not under present day “anti racism, Critical Race Theory” style):

Nov 21, 2021

Kyle Rittenhouse, the teenager who was acquitted of murder last week after shooting and killing two people in Kenosha, Wis., during civil unrest there last year, said he supports the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement.

“I’m not a racist person. I support the BLM movement,” Rittenhouse said during an interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson, a portion of which is slated to air on Carlson’s program on Monday evening.

“I support peacefully demonstrating,” the teen told Carlson, according to a transcript of the interview. “I believe there needs to be change. I believe there’s a lot of prosecutorial misconduct, not just in my case but in other cases. It’s just amazing to see how much a prosecutor can take advantage of someone.”

The jury on Friday found Rittenhouse not guilty of all five counts he faced, including intentional homicide, after defense attorneys argued Rittenhouse acted in self-defense when he shot and killed Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, and Anthony Huber, 26.

March 2022 Update

Whether or not you find Kyle Rittenhouse’s meme-tweet about Biden’s gas prices making him cry funny or in bad taste, it’s obvious this is not real, and a joke. Apparently, people who are found innocent of a crime aren’t allowed to laugh at themselves or make jokes at their own expense EVER AGAIN, or at least that’s what we’re seeing with the Left and their response to this meme.

…Notice, Kyle did not make the meme, he just shared it. Laughed at HIMSELF and then gave credit to the person who actually made it.
