How ‘Undercover Underage’ Star Roo Powell Busts Sex Predators
Note that some of the perverted men mentioned in these stories below were MARRIED. Married men. Marriage does not make people responsible, ethical, godly, loving, or mature – contrary to what the marriage-obsessed, nuclear-family-obsessed persons and groups out there keep writing in their articles and blog posts.

A new docuseries explores how a 38-year-old mother-of-three from Connecticut uses costumes, makeup, and other tricks to convince online sex predators that she is a teenager – so she can track these men down and turn them over to the authorities.
Roo Powell, from New Haven, has dedicated her life to helping law enforcement catch predators who pray on underage girls through her nonprofit organization, SOSA (Safe from Online Sex Abuse), which she launched in 2020.
She has created over a dozen aliases, each one with its own fake name and background story – and at any given time, she might be talking to 30 ACMs (Adults Contacting Minors).
…Roo talks to the older men in chatrooms and over direct message, texting, and FaceTime, pretending to be a teenager by dressing up in trendy clothes, wearing sparkly makeup, sporting youthful hairstyles, and utilizing dim lighting.
…According to Roo, most of the predators that she has assisted in catching look like the ‘men we come across in our everyday lives.’
‘It could be the person that coaches your kid, the community leader, a family friend, the one with the wife and kids who’s always nice,’ she said.
‘The truth is that it could be anyone. There’s no particular profile. It’s not the troll under the bridge.’

In March 2021, former cop Cullen Jones spelled out his sickening intentions to an underage girl over FaceTime: “I’ll teach you everything you need to know,” he said. “I’d love to have a kid with you.”
The 45-year-old insisted he could drive more than 800 miles through the night — from Oklahoma to Illinois — “just to see you” and help the teen take legal steps to “emancipate” herself from her parents so he could marry her.
But the high-school sophomore Jones thought he was seducing over video chat was actually a 38-year-old mom-of-three from New Haven, Conn.
Child advocate Roo Powell uses wigs, makeup tricks and fake backgrounds — including a “girlie” bedroom complete with twinkly lights and posters of young stars like Tom Holland — to trap online sex predators.
“[Jones] quickly went from saying ‘I care about you’ to ‘I want to adopt you’ to ‘I want you to be my next bride,’” Powell exclusively told The Post. “It got really dark.”
Jones was sentenced to 10 years in prison thanks to Powell’s undercover work, and this is the first time she has been able to publicly identify one of her busts since founding the nonprofit SOSA (Safe from Online Sex Abuse) in 2020.
The organization’s work is featured in the new TV documentary series “Undercover Underage,” which debuts on Investigation Discovery on Feb. 24. It’s currently airing on the streaming service Discovery+.
Cameras follow Powell and her fellow investigators as they help police bring perverts like Jones to justice. She said that, on any given night, she could be messaging with as many as 30 ACMs (Adults Contacting Minors), and that her team has been able to identify and turn over several to authorities, including 10 on her show.
“I’m not law enforcement,” Powell said. “I don’t want to do [the cops and prosecutors’] job and, once I’ve played my part, I’m hands-off.”
The mom, who was previously employed in the tech space, became interested in online child safety after working on a project exposing the ubiquity of predators who groom kids on the Internet.
…Jones [the pedophile / hebephile] zeroed in on Alex [one of Powell’s fake teen personas] by direct-messaging her on Instagram.
“He started off … with: ‘You know, I’m here for you because we’re friends,’” Powell recalled. “Then it turned into: ‘Oh, and, by the way, I’m having issues with my wife and you’re so wonderful.’”
Within a week, Jones had progressed from direct-messaging and texting to wanting to do video calls with Alex.
“A lot of the things he said became really lascivious — he’s talking about wanting to essentially deflower her, wanting to marry her and have a kid with her after she’s emancipated herself,” Powell said.
