Married Doctor Accused of Raping Patients During Operations Found Dead In Ditch with Gunshot Wound to the Head
It seems to me that in the last two or so years, I’ve been seeing more and more news articles about medical professionals – including everything from dentists to surgeons – who are raping or molesting girls and women during procedures. These types of news stories seemed more rare in the past.
One of the reports in my blog post here – the one via New York Post – says he left his wedding ring behind, which would seem to indicate he was MARRIED.
If so, contrary to what Al Mohler, Brad Wilcox, Mark Regnerus, Philip Derrida and other excessively pro marriage individuals and groups (which are usually Christian or socially conservative) like to say, marriage does NOT improve society or make people more godly, loving, ethical, responsible, mature, or loving. This is yet another example of that.

A Florida doctor charged with raping two sedated women while they were undergoing cosmetic medical procedures has been found dead in a ditch near his home, authorities said.
Dr. Eric Andrew Salata, 54, of Naples, was charged Nov. 21 with two counts of sexual battery to a physically helpless person in the assaults of his 51- and 73-year-old patients.
On Tuesday, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the alleged sicko was found dead, the Naples Daily News reported.
An incident report cited by the Daily Beast says Salata’s body was found during a welfare check after his ankle monitor hadn’t budged for several hours Monday.
After finding his boot sticking up in local woods, police discovered the doctor’s body — with a gunshot wound to the head and a handgun lying nearby, the news outlet reported.
Salata — who had practiced medicine for over 30 years — left two notes, his credit cards and his wedding ring at his home before his death, according to the report cited by the Daily Beast.
Police stressed that his death has not yet been ruled a suicide because an autopsy hasn’t been completed, but a spokesperson told the outlet that it “does not appear to be suspicious.”
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Michelle Batten did not release additional details about the death.
The 51-year-old woman told investigators that Salata administered laughing gas during a procedure last month, when she felt him touch her private parts, a report obtained by the Naples Daily News said. When she questioned him about what he was doing, he stopped.
He then used more gas and offered her an unknown clear liquid — possibly tequila — to drink, leading her to become intoxicated and pass out.
She said she later saw Salata performing oral sex and penetrating her.
The other woman also told cops that Salata raped her during her procedure.
The doctor’s practice, Pura Vida Medical Spa, focused on body contouring, skin care and spa treatments.

A cosmetic doctor in Naples, Florida, was found dead in a ditch with a gunshot to his head after he was accused of raping patients while they were sedated during medical treatments.
54-year-old Eric Andrew Salata was accused by two of his patients of rape while they were under sedation at his medical office.
The Naples Police Department arrested the board-certified doctor at Pura Vida medical spa on November 21.
Salata was out on bond for about a week when the police were called on Monday for a welfare check because his ankle monitor had not moved for over eight hours.
Police said they found him in a ditch near his home — dead from a gunshot wound to his head and a pistol resting next to his leg. They also found that he had left two notes at his home.
One victim told police that she had been given nitrous oxide by Salata for a cosmetic medical procedure, but when she regained consciousness, she was shocked to discover the doctor having sexual intercourse with her. She contacted police and underwent a sexual assault examination.
Another victim contacted police and gave them a similar account. She also underwent a sexual assault examination.
The first victim was 51 years old while the other was 73 years old. Police also believe that Salata gave one victim tequila during the procedure.
A third victim came forward to police after he was arrested over the first two alleged incidents.
Salata was charged with two counts of sexual battery to a physically helpless person.
The medical spa was co-owned by Salata and his wife. The social media and web pages for the business have been scrubbed from the internet.
