Teen Girl Gets Raped at Summer 2016 Baptist-Hosted Youth Event by Staff Cook

Teen Girl Gets Raped at Summer 2016 Baptist-Hosted Youth Event by Staff Cook

This sort of thing sends chills up my spine. I was raised by my Christian parents to ASSUME that Christian areas – such as churches and so on – are safe places to be, and a good place to meet single men to flirt with in the aim of getting married. But I continue to see news story after news story of girls and women who are raped, fondled, or secretly recorded on church grounds or at church-sponsored events (and by men who are Christians, too).

The world’s largest church summer youth camp, hosted at a conference center owned and operated by the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma, could come under greater scrutiny this year after it was alleged in a recent lawsuit that a 13-year-old girl was tied up and brutally raped by a 35-year-old cook last summer.

…In the civil lawsuit that names the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma, Country Estates Baptist Church of Midwest City, and First Baptist Church of Terrell as defendants, the unidentified 13-year-old girl claims she was raped by camp cook Benjamin Lawrence Petty of Midwest City on June 16, 2016.

Man Charged With Raping Teen Inside Church During Youth Meetings

Man Charged With Raping Teen Inside Church During Youth Meetings

And my Christian parents always told me as I was growing up that if I wanted to be married, that churches would be good places to spouse-hunt. I don’t think I am so keen on that idea anymore, considering all the perverts that attend churches.

The rapist in this story, Clunie – I am not sure if he is a Christian or not or claims to be one or not. Regardless, I think I may now have doubts about churches being good places to meet single men to date or marry.

  • Travis Clunie, a 25-year-old man who allegedly raped a 15-year-old girl during youth meetings at a church in Sedalia, Missouri, has been slapped with second degree and statutory rape charges for his sins.
  • According to court papers cited by Fox 4 News, a few months ago Clunie raped the teen inside the church after she repeatedly told him “no.”
  •

The girl told investigators that Clunie assaulted her during youth meetings at the New Hope Baptist Church and had sex with her once in an upstairs bathroom and in another room at the church.

Church Videographer Who Sounded Very Christian in His Social Media Accounts Accused of Molesting Girls

Church Videographer Who Sounded Very Christian in His Social Media Accounts Accused of Molesting Girls

As I’ve said many times, Christian single women need to abandon the “be equally yoked” teaching, which limits them to only dating men who appear to be Christian. First of all, there is a shortage of Christian single adult males.

Secondly, even the Bible quoting, church going variety of Christian men turn out to be child rapists. See the story below.

This particular pervert, as one site noted, even peppered his social media accounts with Bible quotations and so on. Also note that in some of his Tweets, he mentions believing in “Family Values.”

Blogger John Morgan would argue that the two little girls in this story below are now “married” to this pervert, all because they had sexual contact. See (Link): this post for more on that.

  • The molestation, alleged to have happened at Greenville Presbyterian Church on Pendleton Street, was reported to police on Jan. 1.
  • The girls, ages 4 and 6, said they were repeatedly molested by church videographer, 23-year-old Gilbert Broyles, in November and December.Arrest warrants say Broyles admitted to church leaders that he either touched the girls underneath their clothing or got them remove items of clothing and touched them in “their private areas.”Police said they interviewed Broyles, and after he admitted his involvement with the girls, he was charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

Montgomery pastor admits to having AIDS, sleeping with church members

—There are updates at the bottom—

On this blog for the past few years, I have been asking Christians to explain WHY a Christian single woman should only marry a Christian man (I’ve yet to receive a response), since

1. Christian females out number Christian males, it’s not possible – so you’re in fact asking such women to die single, even though they may want to marry; and

2. “because the Bible says not to be unequally yoked” ~ does not add up.

That is, a lot of Christian men are porn addicts, have affairs on their wives, beat their wives up, and fondle children, and so on (click here to read examples ~ and this link: Shocking Porn ‘Epidemic’ Stats Reveal Details About Christian Consumption: ‘A Very Real Addiction’ That Can ‘Spiral Out of Control’ (2014 Study) ).

~ I am not seeing any kind of logical, rational benefit for an unmarried, Christian woman to limit herself to dating and marrying Christian males only, when there are agnostic, Jewish, or whatever other men, who may be more loving and more ethical than Christians.

Here’s another example of a guy who is a Christian who worked as a preacher, he may be married with kids (not sure on that), he has AIDS, and was having sex with various church members but did not tell them he has AIDS.

If I am remembering right, some of the news articles said he was having sex IN THE CHURCH BUILDING itself, which, IMO, adds an extra layer of grossness and inappropriateness to the story.

Whether this guy is a “real” Christian or not is MOOT because the gals he slept with or married believed him to be one. I do so tire of Christians saying, “Yeah, well, I don’t think this guy was ever “saved” to start with, he’s not a “real” Christian.”

That point is moot and does not let the guy off the hook – and, it’s my belief that actual, real Christians are guilty of awful sins like this on occasion.

Youth Pastor Molests Daughter, Lead Pastor Dedicates Children to Satan

Youth Pastor Molests Daughter, Lead Pastor Dedicates Children to Satan

For the billionth time: a Christian, unmarried woman is just as well-off marrying a Non-Christian as a guy who is a Christian who does things likes molests children, kills cats, or dedicates kids to Satan. I am not seeing a strong case here to apply “be equally yoked” to marriage.

Let this also serve as another example that marriage or being a parent does not instantly bestow a person with character, good morals, or godliness – the guy who did these deeds is married with a kid.

I have never married and never been a parent, but I’ve also never molested any kids, killed animals, or been involved in Satanism. A person does not need marriage or to pro-create to be a decent, ethical, compassionate, or law-abiding human being.

  • The 2005 Louisiana church molestation case that inspired the plot for the first season of HBO’s “True Detective” series involved a so-called youth pastor sexually abusing his own daughter and the lead pastor dedicating children to satan.

Details of the case, which involved pastor Louis Lamonica Jr., and youth pastor Austin “Trey” Bernard of Hosanna Church in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, were revealed in a new VICE media documentary, “The Real ‘True Detective.'”

Lamonica’s initial confession to local police opened up the case in 2005. The detectives who worked the case, captain Stuart Murphy of the Tangipahoa Sheriff’s Office and Tom Tedder, a special agent with the FBI, discussed it in greater detail with VICE and revealed some horrifying details.

  • Murphy revealed part of Bernard’s confession where he discussed the likelihood that he molested his own daughter.

“I did touch my daughter and have improper contact with her,” Bernard told police in his confession. “At about 1-year-old, I began having shaking hands when changing her diaper, fearing what I am capable of.”

Lamonica, who is now serving four concurrent life sentences for the details he gave up in his confession, admitted to satanic practices, child molestation, and the abuse of his own children inside the church.

“And the dedication of [this 1-year old] into satan was this pentagram,” said Lamonica to police during his confession. She would be standing in the middle and it was like, her little dress/outfit was taken off and, there was a animal killed. If I remember right, it was a cat. Killed, blood drained and everybody drank the blood.”

  • …Murphy described the molestation that allegedly went on in the church as an exhibition that involved members sharing the children with each other to sexually abuse. The adults also confessed to each other the heinous things they did to them during their prayer meetings.

  • As the Austrian Times reported, the woman, identified as 24-year-old “Babsi” (her stage name), was arrested and confessed to filming a dirty movie inside a Catholic church.
  • Besides taking place inside a church, the video apparently included a Bible and a rosary, police said.
  • The parish priest was tipped off when a parishioner spotted the video online, but since the video did not show the woman’s face, police initially lacked leads.
  • But when parts of the video were aired on local television, an apparent porn aficionado called in, saying they knew the woman’s identity based on her breasts.
  • “Babsi” confessed to filming the video, the Times reported.
  • According to the Times, religious officials decided that the soft-core porn was not a serious enough sin to merit reconsecrating the Catholic church.

A Kentucky church that hired a pastor with full knowledge that he’s a registered sex offender, is now the scene of an another alleged crime in which the minister is accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy who attended the church.

…. Yoakem, 46, who is married and has a 14-year-old son himself, was a registered sex offender when he was hired by the church roughly three years ago.

… “When he first became pastor about two and-a-half, three years ago, he informed the church of that right off,” Stephen Bratcher, the interim pastor at New Gospel Outreach Church told WSMV. “He explained that those allegations were false.”

The church took Yoakem at his word and Bratcher defended the hire.

“We’re firm believers in the Bible, so if God’s forgiven you, then we’re in no position to treat you otherwise,” Bratcher said.

Church allows nude worship because ‘Jesus was crucified naked’

Church allows nude worship because ‘Jesus was crucified naked’

I’m pretty sure Jesus’ nudity was part of the shame and humiliation he felt while on the cross and was not something intended to be emulated by His followers, anymore than God meant for Christians to go around wearing a crown of thorns on their heads.

Pertinent verses and passages:

Genesis 3:

He [Adam] answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”

11 And he [God] said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”

21 The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.

And, from the Old Testament, God said he did not want to see the bits and pieces of male priests as they walked up the stairs in the temple, hence:
Exodus 28: 42, 43

42 “Make linen undergarments as a covering for the body, reaching from the waist to the thigh.
43 Aaron and his sons must wear them whenever they enter the tent of meeting or approach the altar to minister in the Holy Place, so that they will not incur guilt and die.

Pastor Allen Parker, the leader of White Tail Chapel in the town of Southampton, said he came to the decision to allow naked worship after concluding the clothing requirements of other churches were overly ‘pretentious’, and decided his own flock should be free to forgo such materialism if they desire.

I don’t find this sort of deviancy surprising in churches, given the following:

Self Professing Christian Guy, Closeted Homosexual, Apparently Killed His Wife (or had her killed) – Also: Christian Group IHOP Sexualizes Jesus Christ and God

Christian Guy, Closeted Homosexual, Apparently Killed His Wife (or had her killed)

Another splendid example of why Christian single women are just as well off dating and marrying Non Christians guys as they are Christian males.

Disclaimer: I am not suggesting by posting such stories that ALL Christian males are closeted homosexuals, abusive, killers, perverts, crack pots, or weirdos, but enough of them are in the news stories I see to have convinced me by now that Non Christian males are no more a risk to date or marry.

Found via “Stuff Christian Culture Likes” Facebook group:

(Link): Love and Death In the House of Prayer

Tyler Deaton, a self-appointed apostle in one of the fastest-growing evangelical movements, loved Jesus, Harry Potter and, much to his dismay, other men. When his wife turned up dead, the secrets began to spill out

According to this article from Rolling Stone, Deaton became a member of something called IHOP (International House of Prayer) founded by another guy who sounds equally crack-potish, Bickle. The article described some of the group’s beliefs – many of which are nutty and have zero biblical support.

The following is from page two, referring to the girl (Bethany) who this Tyler person later married and, according to the article, either killed or had killed:

She [Bethany] could also be lavishly, almost immoderately romantic. She imagined herself as a novelist and professor at a small university, living in a cottage in the woods. “The dream of her heart was to be married,” Herrington recalls. “We used to stay up late talking about it, night after night. She had been praying for her husband since she was a teenager. She had written him letters, before they even met.” She found herself “fiercely attracted” to Deaton and was convinced that God had ordained their union. She was aware of his struggles with homosexuality but believed that God would use her to heal his heart.

There you have it, Christian ladies: you can pray and rely on God to send you a spouse – as so many Christian leaders, dating books, and preachers advise – and end up marrying an apparently violent, psychotic, closeted homosexual, instead of the hetero, Christian White Knight on a Steed you were hoping for and expecting.

One wonders why God, if he exists, would allow a Christian young woman, who was trusting him in this area of her life, (and as Christian girls are heavily encouraged to do by leaders and parents), only for God to let her down in such a spectacular fashion?

The founder of the IHOP group to which Deaton belonged appears to have sexualized Jesus Christ, and the relationships Christians have with him, though he claims this is not so:

Three Different Preachers Caught Molesting or Raping Kids – No Point in Christian Single Women Holding Out for Christian Men to Marry When So Many Christian Men are Perverts

Three Different Preachers Caught Molesting or Raping Kids – No Point in Christian Single Women Holding Out for Christian Men to Marry When So Many Christian Men are Perverts

Some of these men might be married and/or fathers, and if so, this again blows holes in the Christian propaganda and theories that married people are more mature or godly than people who are childless and single.

Secondly, this goes to show that single Christian women can and should consider marrying a Non Christian man, since even Christian males who are employed as preachers are perverts.

I’ve noticed also that a lot of times, the men who molest kids tend to be in their 50s (well, one guy below is in his 20s, but usually, they seem to be in their 50s, for some reason, and occasionally, you’ll see one that is in his 60s), and child molestors tend to be ugly as fuck. The men in the links below are no exception: ugggg-leeee.

As far as the common age of offenders: maybe these men start out molesting kids when they are in their 20s but most don’t get caught until they are in their 50s? Or is there something about turning 50 that makes a guy want to start molesting children?

One of these preachers molested little girls while driving them TO CHURCH services, according to another news page I read about it. Unbelievable.

He’s taking the little girls to an environment where one supposes they will hear about how Jesus cares about them, only for this sick fuck to prey on them sexually on the way there, on the way to the church (one report said he fondled them in his car on the way to the church).

If those girls reject the Christian faith on that basis, I would not be surprised, nor would I blame them. If there is a God, I do not know why he does not intervene on the spot, on the instant, and protect kids in situations like that.

Baptist Church Hires What They Knew Was a Convicted Child Rapist to Be Preacher (he is married and a father too) – the pervert then raped boys at the church, church then blamed boys for being raped

Links to the news story about the Baptist church that knew their preacher was raping boys are farther below.

Please, Christians, explain why Christian single women should only marry Christian men, when so many of these stories keep turning up in the news of Christian men who are arrested for raping people, or for other crimes?

The first link also says this perverted child rapist (the Baptist preacher) was married with a kid of his own!

Marriage and parenting, contrary to Christian stereotypes, do NOT make a person more godly, loving, or responsible.

After having just read the second, highly detailed report of just how bad this sexual abuse was, and how the church (including the perverted preacher’s wife) tried to cover up this abuse (and then blamed the rape victims, little boys, for having been raped!!), I am even more disgusted now that some Christians teach the Christian marriage stereotypes (ones that disparages the unmarried, as to suggest one has to be “godly” before God will send them a spouse, so if one remains single, it must be because one is a horrible person).

Oh yes, some married Christians do in fact teach marriage stereotypes that are ‘anti-singles’ in nature (for examples of that, see the personal testimonies by adult Christian singles on this previous thread, of comments they received from married Christians, or from preachers, which suggest that they remain single because
a.) one has to somehow ‘earn’ or ‘merit’ a spouse by God (by being good or whatever), so obviously, they must not be good or godly enough for a spouse,
or,
b) it is suggested to adult singles from married Christians that they must still be single due to punishment from God, over some lack in character, or some flaw, or sin in their life, and that is why they don’t have a spouse.

I am a never-married woman, but I have NEVER raped or harmed a child in any way, and I would never sit back and do nothing if I knew abuse was going on.

It is very galling to me as a decent person (who happens to be unmarried) when I am told by Christian culture that the reason God has withheld a spouse from me must be due to some sin in my life, or God is trying to straighten out my character, or some such rot.

Oh really? I do not rape children, but the idiot married preacher guy in this story RAPES LITTLE BOYS, and the people at his church, according to these reports KNEW about it and did nothing.

Tell me how God can allow a child rapist to marry, but not a decent person such as myself?

How is the “character” of a child rapist Baptist preacher, who exploited his position as a preacher to boot, “more godly,” or superior, or more developed, than mine, that of a never-married woman who never raped kids, never had sex, never abused drugs, did well in school, and who tried to help other people when and where she could? I’ve never been arrested, committed a crime, or fired from a job.

I’m an Average Smoe who’s never committed an especially heinous sin in my life. But some married Christians assume the reason I have never married must be that God is punishing me for some great sin I’ve done or that I must have some huge, glaring personal flaw that God thinks should prohibit me from marrying. But this child rapist Baptist preacher was married and a father (the article says he has an infant daughter).

Christians need to really re-examine their core assumptions about who gets married and why, as well as the tired notion or assumption that “God only rewards spouses to people who have godly, clean lives, to people who are deserving”.

From Link 1, Warren church accused of allowing pastor, principal to rape boy

    By Jameson Cook

Officials of a Warren church and religious school should have stopped obvious “grooming” of a teenage boy whom the church’s pastor later raped. A lawsuit also claims the pastor never should have been hired because the church knew about his pedophilic tendencies.

In a civil action replete with disturbing accusations, the unidentified boy says employees and officials of Antioch Baptist Church and Academy failed mightily to detect and prevent the actions of convicted rapist Christopher Settlemoir.

“The rape of a minor child occurred dozens of times while the staff turned to the blind eye crime (sic) being perpetrated against a child within their care,” says the lawsuit filed Friday by “John Doe” in Macomb County Circuit Court in Mount Clemens. “(Antioch) had a duty to self-report to Child Protective Services and/or law enforcement that plaintiff… was at risk of and actually was being sexually abused.”

Settlemoir in 2011 pleaded no contest each to two counts each of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, second-degree criminal sexual conduct and accosting a child for immoral purposes for assaults that police said lasted more than a year ending in June 2010. He also was accused of sending explicit text messages to a second boy.

The 29-year-old former Warren resident, who was married and had an infant daughter, is serving a seven- to 15-year prison term.

The lawsuit alleges that officials should have been aware of Settlemoir grooming the teen, who was being raised by a single mother whose father “was not an active part of his life.” Settlemoir “vetted, targeted, identified, befriended and then molested” the victim, the lawsuit says.

From Link 2, Church Blamed the Pastor’s Victim, Boy Says

    By KEVIN KOENINGER

Mt. CLEMENS, Mich. (CN) – After a pastor at Antioch Baptist Academy repeatedly raped a student, the church called the boy a liar and the “instigator of his own rape,” the boy claims in court.

John Doe claims he was younger than 14 when he was repeatedly raped and sodomized in 2009-10 by defendant Christopher Settlemoir, a “29-year-old serial pedophile who was posing as a man of God, a church pastor and a parochial school principal of the defendant Antioch Baptist Church dba Antioch Baptist Academy.”

Doe also sued Settlemoir’s wife, who is or was a teacher at the academy, other employees and the 10 members of the church’s board of directors, who allegedly knew about Settlemoir’s molestations but failed to stop them.

According to the complaint in Macomb County Court: “Defendant Antioch hired the pedophile Christopher Settlemoir as a teacher, pastor and principal even though defendant Settlemoir, while still in college, began showing signs of sexual perversion by racking up $100 in gay porn charges on the cable at the apartment where he was staying as part of the pastor internship program.

“Defendant Settlemoir was eventually kicked out of the internship program for not adhering to the rules, which included bringing teen-age boys to his apartment and being along with the boys for ‘Movie Night.'”

When he finally did report the rapes, Doe says, the church “lashed out” at him:
“After John Doe and his mother came forward and reported to police that Christopher Settlemoir was molesting and raping him, defendants, through their employees and agents, lashed out at John Doe, disparaging him, his mother and his father, through accusations against John Doe. After being raped by Christopher Settlemoir, John Doe was publicly accused by the defendants’ staff of being a liar and the instigator of his own rape, by the very people who failed to protect him from the pedophile defendant Christopher Settlemoir,” the complaint states.

Doe claims that Eunice Settlemoir, the pastor’s wife, “attempted to conceal and later recruited other members of the defendant Antioch to destroy a laptop belonging to her husband to prevent police from obtaining evidence of the molestation and rape of John Doe.”

Preacher Sends Nude Photos to Married Woman, Hits On Her, Tells Her to Divorce Spouse, Has Sex With Woman In Church Building

(Link): Sex Charges Rock Purpose Driven Healthy Church

I can’t figure out if the preacher is married or not, but his female target was married. (Edit, yes he is married. I added the info below).

If I understand the article right, she did cave in at one point and have sex with him, or sent him nude photos.

I re read the article. The article mentions they had sex IN their church building, even during the time the idiot preacher was doing marital counseling for her and her spouse.

Being married is not a guarantee that one will be immune from sexual sin, nor does marriage necessarily make a person more mature, godly, or responsible.

Since this guy worked as a Christian preacher, how or why should a Christian single woman bother dating or marrying Christian men only? Self professing Christian males act no better than Non Christian ones.

Warren’s model pastor accused of manipulating woman for ‘perverted pleasures’

    Published: 12/11/2012 at 9:30 PM

  • Pastor Dale Lee McFarland was an up-and-coming star in the “Purpose Driven Church” movement, having left his position as a Microsoft executive to launch a thriving megachurch in Arizona and travel the world with evangelical superstar Rick Warren to train others in the methods of “The Purpose Driven Life.”
  • McFarland’s congregation, Radiant Church in Surprise, Ariz., had even boasted of receiving the Church Health Award from Purpose Driven Ministries and had grown to be one of the largest Assemblies of God churches in the country.
  • But earlier this year, a couple in the church filed a lawsuit, Courthouse News reports, alleging McFarland told the wife to have sex with him with “God’s approval” and divorce her husband.
  • Derek and Jody Gallagher claim McFarland “breached his duty as a pastor and counselor when [he] began manipulating a vulnerable Jody for his personal, perverted sexual pleasures.”
  • The Gallaghers’ sordid story includes charges McFarland told Jody her husband was “dangerous” and convinced her to change her home’s locks, sent her salacious and pornographic messages, exchanged nude photographs with her and manipulated her into having sex with him in the church building, even while he was offering the couple marriage counseling.
  • The Gallaghers, who are reportedly still married and seeking counseling elsewhere, are suing McFarland, Radiant Church Assembly of God and the Arizona District Council of the Assemblies of God in Maricopa County Court for $6.6 million, claiming breach of fiduciary duty, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress and other claims.
  • McFarland, meanwhile, is no longer employed at Radiant Church, and in fact, the church has scrubbed all mention of him from its website.
  • The allegations, however, have caused some detractors of the Purpose Driven movement and its founder, Rick Warren, to renew their criticism.
  • …But Warren’s critics have claimed his Purpose Driven ministry emphasizes only doing good, while dodging the kind of biblical repentance that is needed for a person – or a pastor – to have their life transformed by Christ. The Purpose Driven Church model, or PDC, discounts the fear of the Lord, Warren’s critics say, while encouraging pastors to become “masters” of their churches instead of servants.
  • …The Gallaghers claim that McFarland’s wife, Sandra, “knew about her husband’s adulterous behavior and his penchant for pursing vulnerable women congregants of his flock, married or unmarried and was complicit in his behavior by choosing to allow it to continue, knowing other women would be harmed and victimized.”

From another (Link): source:

The Gallaghers claim that McFarland “gradually increased the pornographic style of his communications and even persuaded Jody to send him nude pictures of herself and to exchange nude pictures of himself.

  • He proposed clandestine meetings at motels, including one in Prescott near where Jody lived, and provided her cash for such purposes.
  • He described in crude and rude terms his desire to ‘F***’ her on his Harley and told of his visions of her private ‘wet’ body parts and ‘Ah-mazing’ other body features that he described in crude ways and intimate detail,” the complaint states.
  • Jody claims McFarland manipulated her “into having physical relations with him in the inner sanctum of the pastor’s chambers after he arranged for all staff to be absent” – the “very same place where McFarland provided Derek marriage counseling just days after having sexual relations with Derek’s wife Jody.”

Married Christian Woman Sexually Preys on Kids At Phillips’ Family-Worshipping Church – Married People Not More Godly Than Singles – Married Sex Must Not Be As Hot As Christians Teach

Married Christian Woman Sexually Preys on Kids At Phillips’ Family-Worshipping Church – Married People Not More Godly Than Singles – Married Sex Must Not Be As Hot As Christians Teach

Before I get to the main point of this post:

To refresh your memory:

One blog page says that some middle aged (or she might be in her 30s, but I think she’s a bit older?) woman at Phillips’ church was running about hitting on and sleeping with under-aged males in the church, and Phillips did nothing about it.

As I have said numerous times on this blog, and although some Christians do not like to admit this (some have denied this when I talk to them on other blogs), there are indeed stigmas adult singles face from and by the Christian community, such as:

All of us single adults are thought by married Christians to be hussies who hump ten men a day. Never mind some Christian women are virgins at age 40+, no, we are still suspected of being female horn dogs who will hump a married man in a heartbeat.

We are also subjected to the notion in evangelical and fundamentalist Christianity, Southern Baptist thinking, and some Neo-Reformed thinking, that married people with children are more godly, above sexual temptation, holier, and more responsible, than never married/ divorced childless Christians.

Also, according to Christians, if one waits until marriage to have sex, the sex will be regular and great. If married sex is so great and peachy, why did this married Christian woman have sex with so many teen boys and such at her church?

So is it not eye-opening to see married Christian women who get caught doing things such as described in this post (it discusses a married Christian woman who had sexual affairs with one teen boy, and who hit on numerous teen boys and perhaps a few 20-somethings at her church, and there were possibly a few adult on adult extra marital affairs going on as well, and the church’s preacher did nothing to halt any of this despite numerous pleas from church members):

Gotta Maintain that Propaganda that Married Christian Sex is “Mind Blowing”

Gotta Maintain that Propaganda that Married Christian Sex is “Mind Blowing”

Much of Christian sexual purity and dating literature, blogging, and other forms of communication, tells the young ‘uns if they stay virgins until marriage that married sex will be “mind blowing.” (And don’t forget the other, similar piece of propaganda: (Link): Magical Christian Thinking: If you have pre-marital sex you won’t get a decent spouse)

Never mind I have numerous examples on this blog of Christian and Non Christians who waited until sex to have marriage but the sex was terrible, or didn’t happen, because one spouse decided he or she did not like sex.

Here’s an article at ‘The Christian Post’ where some religious guy is maintaining the propaganda of “wait for marriage and the sex will be frequent, and porn movie quality stuff, not that, um, not that you Christians should be looking at porn movies, but you know what I mean”. I have more comments below this article on this page:

(Link): Christian Sexual Culture Beats Past and Present ‘Pagan Sexuality’, Catholic Researcher Says

    By Tyler O’Neil

WASHINGTON – The monogamous, family-friendly culture shared by Christians, Jews, and Muslims proves both more sexually satisfying and more socially philanthropic than the promiscuous culture of hook-ups, homosexuality, and porn, a Roman Catholic researcher argued on Wednesday.

“Those who worship God weekly have the best sex,” asserted Patrick F. Fagan, Senior Fellow and Director of the Marriage and Religion Research Institute (MARRI) at the Family Research Council, which hosted the event. Fagan’s assertion that intact, married couples enjoy sex the most was based on data from the National Health and Social Life Survey.

…But not only do faithful, religious husbands and wives have the best love life, he said, they are also “the core strength of the country.”

…However, a culture antithetical to marriage and family has emerged. “Our times are a bit analogous to Pagan Rome, where Christianity first grew up,” Fagan observed.

… He also said that one in six men and 17 percent of women struggle with porn, and that leads to dissatisfaction in marriage. He used census data to show that women who have had sex before or outside of marriage were more likely to divorce, while 80 percent of women who do not engage in premarital or extramarital sex remain in intact marriages.

Citing, among others, social scientist Jill Manning’s book The Impact of Internet Pornography on Marriage and the Family: A Review of the Research, he argued that “pornography generates alienation between men and women.” It causes distrust among husbands and wives, and misshapes children’s ability to understand sex as God intended.

This problem becomes acute in college, where young men “experiment with evil to find out what’s good.” Although the sexual culture predominates most campuses, Fagan suggested picking friends committed to chastity, a healthy social life, and exercise as alternatives. The “convivial time together where self-control and sobriety is key to the enjoyment of the other,” is the best way to combat porn.

Fagan concluded by encouraging Christians, Jews, and Muslims to unite and champion their sexual culture. Only in this restrained, chaste, devoted way can a man say to his wife, “I give my heart whole, and not in pieces,” Fagan said.

Not only is this guy trying to uphold the Christian sexual purity cliche’ of “stay a virgin until marriage, and I promise the sex will be mind blowing,” but I’ve seen reverse examples (and have blogged of them before) of currently Christian married women (and a few men) who admitted to being total bimbos before marriage, and they later got married to a Christian person and their marriages are doing okay.

Then you have the Christian couples I’ve seen interviewed on Christian shows who were committed Christians upon marriage, but over the years, drifted apart, or after a few years, the husband got into affairs and pornography.

Regarding this comment,

Fagan concluded by encouraging Christians, Jews, and Muslims to unite and champion their sexual culture.

That made me laugh. Oh Fagan, you are so naive.

Talk to Christians who have literally stayed virgins into their 30s, 40s, and older and ask them how much their sexual purity is “celebrated” or “championed” by their faith communities.

Answer: they’re not celebrated. Older celibates are either ignored or if paid any attention by their faith community, are ridiculed or insulted or treated like freaks.

Christians bitch and moan about the high divorce rate, porn addictions running amok, etc. and so on, but they do nada, nothing to support people who are actually living a celibate life and who are trying to resist fornication.

If these religious idiots truly supported celibacy and purity, they would treat singles as full equals in churches and Christian culture, but they not only treat them like second class citizens, but they also refuse to allow them to participate in church leadership positions.

Singleness is treated by Christians and churches as though it is only a temporary, and second-rate, stepping stone to the end-all be-all of life, marriage.

Trend Du Juor & Partially Off-Base Solution To – Sex Trafficking

Trend Du Juor & Partially Off Base Solution To – Regarding: Sex Trafficking

I disagree a tad with this author’s solution to the problem of sex trafficking:

(Link): To Fight Sex Trafficking, Fight the Ideology That Creates It, Expert Says

Before I get to that quibble, I wanted to complain a moment about how conservative Christians get “trendy” with causes, sometimes like secular culture does. I have written of this weird, odd habit of Christians before, in several posts, this is just one example: (Link): Suffering and Misery Trend Du Jour

Remember in the 1980s, when there was Hands Across America and LiveAid massive, public fund raising events and rock concerts? There was a real obsession with feeding the hungry, and in particular, hungry dark-skinned Africans.

Disclaimer: I think it’s great if Christians, or whomever, wants to feed hungry, and yes, the Bible encourages it; and no, I’m not opposed people of any skin color helping people of whatever skin color. I’m not opposed to people saving little girls or teens from sex trafficking, or helping orphans.

What has driven me up the wall for years, though, is this narrow focus on classes of suffering, and that many white Christians want to help only dark- skinned Africans, or other highly specific groups, such as American homeless crack addicts.

Your average, middle class Christian refuses to simply help the people who God (if He even exists) puts in his or her path daily – like maybe your 76 year old widowed neighbor, let’s say.

Maybe your elderly neighbor is lonely. Why don’t you invite her over for a spot of tea? Why don’t you mow her lawn for her, instead of running downtown to hand sandwiches out to… drunk homeless people you don’t even know?

Why not help the people in your immediate vicinity who need your help, rather than twisting your hands in concern over starving orphans you’ve never met on another continent, and mailing checks to “Feed Africa” charities you see advertised on television ministries?

There are Christian churches in Africa – but American Christians continue to behave as though there are no Christians in Africa.

I have noticed in the last five years an uptick in interest among Christians in the human (sex) trafficking situation. I’m sure human sex trafficking has been going on since time immemorial; why are Christians only showing interest in it lately?

Varieties of human suffering are not like fashions, one day 1860s hoop skirts, then 1950s poodle skirts, then polyester leisure suits, bell bottoms, then on to parachute pants and Members Only jackets. But Christians treat suffering in this way.

While I still see a lot of “feed the African” appeals on Christian TV shows, the overall spotlight seems to be on sex trafficking now. The attitude now seems to be, “Let’s forget about the starving African kids, now, the cooler, hip brand of human misery is six year old girls being sold as whores to adults, so let’s focus all our energy on that.”

Here are excerpts from ‘To Fight Sex Trafficking, Fight the Ideology That Creates It, Expert Says’

By Napp Nazworth, Christian Post Reporter
    February 25, 2013

PHILADELPHIA – In the fight against sex trafficking, the Church needs to address the root causes – the ideas in culture that break the linkage sex has to love, responsibility and children, Lisa Thompson, liaison for the abolition of sexual trafficking for the Salvation Army, said during a Friday presentation at The Justice Conference.

“Sex trafficking is a battle of ideas,” Thompson explained during a pre-conference session on sex trafficking. The Church in America too often does not do enough to address the ideology upon which sex trafficking is based – “an ideology that disassociates sex from love, responsibility and children.”

American culture embraces this idea, she continued, and it is “spewed upon us” by “media elites in our culture,” such as movies, books and TV shows.

“One of the reasons sex trafficking is flourishing is that we, as a Church, do not do enough to address the ideology that disassociates sex from love,” Thompson explained.

… “The Church is uniquely situated to do prevention,” Morgan said, through youth leadership and spiritual formation programs.

I appreciate that both ladies, Thompson and Morgan, are trying to fight this evil, I truly do. However.

With 80% -(or whatever the high rate is, stats are in other posts on my blog)- of conservative Christians fornicating (that is, having sex outside of marriage these days), and I think 80% is also a recent number I saw for number of conservative Christian men who are addicted to pornography…

And given that for decades now, preachers and Christian books have been telling Christians ‘sex is for marriage only,’ ‘don’t divorce sex from love,’ and all the rest of the usual sex shtick one hears from conservative Christianity mouthpieces…

If such propaganda and argumentation was not enough to keep Christian themselves chaste, virgins until marriage, and to keep men (and now, some women) away from pornography (and it has not for many of them, though certainly some have remained sexually pure), how oh how do these anti- sex trafficking women speakers expect the same rationale and arguments to work against sex trafficking of people?

I’ve seen a few secular news articles about sex trafficking, and some of the men who were caught soliciting sex from kids were employed as PREACHERS. That’s right, men whose job was to love people and spread the Gospel.

I have previous posts on this blog with lists of links to news articles about “Christians,” including preachers, who have been arrested for raping children, raping women, murdering people and similar, horrid things.

Regarding this quote from the article:

American culture embraces this idea [an ideology that disassociates sex from love, responsibility and children.”], she [Thompson] continued, and it is “spewed upon us” by “media elites in our culture,” such as movies, books and TV shows.

I hate to break it to her, but it’s not only “media elite” and secular movies, books and TV shows which have cheapened sex, but it is also the Christian church, certain preachers, and Christian culture in America today, that has cheapened sex and sexual purity and sexual self control. Rather than restate my arguments here on those points, I invite you to read my previous posts on those issues:

(Link – hosted on WND.com): The Church of Sex – mentions sex obsessed preacher Mark Driscoll and Ed Young Jr.

Excerpt:

Exclusive: David Kupelian challenges Pastor Mark Driscoll about his ‘obsession’

There’s a new form of Christianity sweeping the U.S. Its main focus: sex.

…And while there is a surprising number of preachers, teachers and Christian websites today whose main focus is sex, the most prominent is Mark Driscoll, founding pastor of the wildly popular Seattle mega-church Mars Hill Church.

…By the way, as runner-up for top mega-church pastor in “The Church of Sex,” I’d nominate Ed Young, senior pastor of Dallas-based Fellowship Church, who recently staged “a 24-hour bed-in with his wife atop his church,” a stunt designed to publicize his just-released New York Times best-seller, “Sexperiment: 7 Days to Lasting Intimacy With Your Spouse.”

… However, let’s just state the obvious: Mark Driscoll is utterly obsessed with sex.

He tells, for instance, the following story of one female member of his congregation who – and I quote – “brought her husband to Christ” by giving him oral sex, in accord with Driscoll’s specific pastoral advice to her. Here’s how Driscoll, during a Nov. 18, 2007, sermon in Edinburgh, Scotland, described this particular husband’s “conversion”:
    [(Link): Read the rest here]

Again, I appreciate that Thompson and the other lady mentioned in the article are speaking out against human sex trafficking, but I do not think telling Christians to remember or spread the word that sex should not be divorced from love will do much of anything to decrease the selling of females for sex.

Conservative Christians have been telling other Christians, and secular society (at least the teenagers), that sex is for marriage only for several decades now, and that has not exactly diminished the number of people – as teens or as adults – having sex outside of marriage, cheating on partners once they do marry, or using pornography.

I fail to see how the same strategy could be all that helpful in fighting sex trafficking.

A lot of Christians today actually mock and ridicule or criticize the idea that any adult can practice sexual self control (I refer you again to my previous post: (Link): The Contemporary Church Undervalues Celibacy / Virginity [Christians do not support virginity, celibacy, or even traditional marriage, even though they say they do]).

These are Christians doing the mocking and questioning of sexual purity/ celibacy / virginity these days, mind you, not just secular society, where one would expect to find it. You can’t win an anti sex trafficking situation when even Christians have thrown in the towel on sexual purity concepts, which they have.

Church Postcards That Would Keep Me Away From Church (Re Marriage and Family Vs Singles and Childless / Childfree )

Church Postcards That Would Keep Me Away From Church (Regarding Marriage and Family Vs. Singles and Childless / Child Free)

There is a site that sells postcards, banners, and other bric-a-brak to churches. I perused their postcard section, of which they must have one billion post card designs. About 90% of those designs pertain to marriage, sex, and children/parenting. You can see samples of some of their postcards though out this post.

Church postcards: Making Marriage Work, Fireproofing Your Marriage

To the right: “Making Marriage Work” and “Fireproofing Your Marriage.” Based on stats I keep seeing in books and on different sites around the internet, upwards of 44% (or more) of the American population over the age of 18 are un-married. They don’t have a marriage that “needs work” or “needs fireproofing.”

Where is the post card that says “Making Singlehood Work?” I didn’t see them on that site that sells these things, and I looked through many, many of their postcards.

churchFamilies

To the left there, you will see a postcard of a back car window with a sticker family, with a Dad, Mom, and three kids, with “Families” in big letters. Nothing says “Singles, we don’t give a rat’s ass about you” quite like a direct mail piece to people that doesn’t show a lone stick figure – a stick lady standing alone – but only a traditional family of married couple with kids.

It may be that churches who mail these sorts of cards out have fancy marketing information so that only married couples with kids in their vicinity get these marriage and family postcards, but some churches do not have a lot of income for stuff like this and would probably indiscriminately mail the identical post card out to every one in ten, twenty, whatever mile radius around their church, regardless of their marital status.

Meaning, I would not be surprised if some elderly widow with no kids gets these sorts of “family” postcards, or if middle- aged, never- married people get one, too.

Lists of More Married Preachers Arrested for Being Rapists or Child Molesters

Please see my post right before this one: Stereotypes Against Singles Refuted Series: Married IFB Preacher Arrested for Being Serial Rapist

As it turns out, the “Stuff Fundies Like” site has many, many posts about pervy married pastors. Here is one entry at that site with a long list of married Baptist preachers who raped or fondled grown men, little boys, little girls, and/or grown women:

(Link): Isolated Incidents (Completely Unrelated To All The Others Just Like It)

That page links to another with even more links to more news stories of pervy married preachers:

(Link): Blog On The Way (see the side bar on the right hand side of the page)

The lady who runs that blog had this to say to a commentator on the SFL site:
[Explaining that she focuses on child abuse cases among IFB churches]
As I wrote previously, if I documented all the adultery, adult porn, adult fornication, and gay flings among Fundamentalist preachers, I would [n]ever be able to hold down a job.

One heartbreaking, disgusting story featured on both blogs was this one, about a MARRIED BAPTIST COUPLE:

(Link): Joe and Evangeline Combs (from Blog on the Way)

Pastor Joe Combs and his wife, Evangeline Combs, were former Hyles-Anderson faculty/staff members. Though both had been members of Hyles’ church in Hammond Indiana, at the time of their arrest, he was pastoring in Bristol, TN.

Joe and Evangeline Lopez Combs adopted their daughter, whom they named Esther, from the Baptist Children’s Home and Family Ministries, Inc., in nearby Valparaiso, Indiana. The woman then known as Esther Combs has said that her first memory is of being thrown down the stairs in her high chair. As a child, she was beaten, thrown against the wall (knocking out two teeth, which Evangeline rammed back into their sockets, burned repeatedly and with different instruments, including hot oatmeal and curling irons), cut open by blows from her parents, which Evangeline sewed closed with a needle and thread, and turned into a serving girl for the rest of the family.

Joe Combs used her for sex repeatedly, and Evangeline Combs became jealous of her and continued the torture, including pulling out pieces of her skin with pliers. Finally, as a young adult, Elsa (then Esther) drank antifreeze to kill herself….

Eventually, the young woman found the strength to call law enforcement back, and an investigation was launched. It was quickly discovered that Elsa (then Esther) had no birth certificate, no school records, no medical records, and no Social Security number. While Joe and Evangeline and their natural children lied up and down, investigators searched neighborhood trash cans and dumping grounds to locate family photos that had disappeared….

Yes, not only were these two cretins married, claimed to be Baptist Christians, one worked as a preacher, but they also had children with each other, biological.

I’m sorry to keep repeating myself (and this is something I will say again in the future), but…

Conservative Christians think that fatherhood or motherhood automatically make a Christian more responsible and godly – they do not.

News reports such as these do not fit in with the paradigm held by a lot of conservative Christians, particularly Baptists (IFB and SBC and others) and conservative evangelicals that married people are more sexually pure, more morally upright, or more mature than never-married adults (or the divorced) over the age of 25 – 30.

The truth is that married people (and parents) are no more godly, mature, responsible, or sexually upright than singles, or never married adults who have never had children.

Why So Much Fornication – Because Christians Have No Expectation of Sexual Purity

Why So Much Fornication Among Christians and Secular Society – Because Christians and Secularists Have No Expectation of Sexual Purity

Take a look at this quote I placed in bold-face, in an article I pasted into my previous post (see comments by me below this excerpt):

(Link): Advice Needed: My Pastor’s Sex Talk is Too Much

I recently read a blog entry from a user that was concerned about the teachings of her pastor and if she and her husband should leave the church. My situation is very similar…only to the nth degree. Here are a few excerpts of things my pastor has said (and continues to say) in many of his sermons…and at any given time. (Note: sexual descriptions have been toned down by editors)

2. In the middle of sermons, he felt compelled to find out who in the church was fornicating. He proceeded to ask each and every unmarried member: “Are you screwing?”

At the very least, this gross, vulgar pastor at least phrased the question “Are you screwing” and not “WHO are you screwing,” but that he found it necessary to ask singles about this shows he, like many Christians, expect that most singles past the age of 25 are engaging in fornication.

Also, the pastor needs to ask his married members: “Who are you having sex with?,” because married people have affairs, hire sex workers, and look at dirty web sites. His question presumes only singles have sex outside of marriage, which is incorrect.

One reason singles are fornicating (having sex outside of marriage) is because they are expected to. Nobody in the church or in secular society expects that anyone can control his or her sexual behavior for more than two seconds.

There are Christians who are virgins into their 40s and older, ones who hoped to marry and who have NORMAL sexual drives, so quite obviously, it is a lie and distortion for pastors, Churches, and for Hollywood to keep insisting it’s abnormal, weird, strange, or too unrealistic to expect anyone past a certain age to refrain from sex.

Churches need to raise the bar higher. Stop assuming all your singles are fooling around.

Start talking as though you know they are not having sex outside of marriage, and watch as at least some segments of singledom… stop screwing around.

Singles are told constantly by preachers, churches, lay person Christians, Christian dating material, books, TV shows -and by secular society- that it’s inhumane, unfair, or impossible for them to refrain from sex longer than two seconds, so do not be surprised when singles shrug their shoulders and say, “Well okay then, even the preacher says I can’t be expected to abstain, so I’ll dive right into sex!”

One myth that feeds into the erroneous Christian view that singles (or marrieds) cannot live without sex for longer than two seconds is the misunderstanding about celibacy: it is not a “gift.” (Link): No where does the Scripture say that singleness or celibacy are “gifts.”

Not all singles choose to be single. Not all singles have been “called to singleness” or “gifted with singlehood” or “called to celibacy.”

Some singles like me had hoped to marry and have sex. I did not deliberately choose to be un-married this long.

God did not grant me any kind of special super power that removes all libido, sexual desire, nor was I granted with some supernatural disinterest in hot, hunky, muscular blue eyed dream-boats.

I’m an ordinary HETERO with normal desires for sex and married companionship. I don’t have some special gift, power, ability or “super power” or “calling” that empowers me to abstain. I don’t feel Christ giving me special grace to refrain from sex.

Celibacy is a matter of choice, self-control, and good old-fashioned self-discipline. If I, a normal mortal with a normal sex drive, can forgo sex this long, so can you.

If churches began showcasing virginity and celibacy as reasonable expectations, not as something only a few with Magical Super Powers can achieve, we might see more Christian singles avoiding sex outside of marriage.

That, and preachers need to shut up about sex from the pulpit, as in “Married sex is great!”

Singles don’t need to be exposed to the constant “married sex is awesome” sermons every other Sunday.

Preacher, would you go on and on every week about how great and yummy potato chips and chocolate cake are in front of your chubby friend who is dieting? No, you would not, because that would be rude.

So stop dangling sex in front of a room full of congregants who are single and trying not to have sex.

Some preachers are clueless idiots – they’re not “upholding” marriage with all the marriage sermons, they are un-necessarily torturing their single audience members.

Preachers Who Use Strippers, Hula Girls, Topless Hunky Men, and Strip Poles During Church Services and Give Sex Diplomas to Teens – Yes, Really

Preachers Who Use Strippers, Hula Girls, Topless Hunky Men, and Strip Poles During Church Services and Give Sex Diplomas to Teens – Yes, Really

Some pastors have not ruled out using strippers in future church services (anything to lure in the un-saved to church!), while others have used hula girls and topless muscular men.

The host of the following radio show also discusses Christian television show host’s Pat Robertson’s view point that all men are horn dogs who are sex-obsessed, so you can’t blame a man for cheating on his spouse. (I wrote about Robertson on this topic (Link): here and (Link): here).

Here’s the radio show:

This next link below: the strict gender role stereotyping and the assumptions of what either gender wants is disgusting.

Not all men are into strippers, like football, and not all women are into teddy bears, hearts, rainbows, and being “touchie feelie.”

I had a male co-worker once who HATED sports (and he was HETERO, and he later got married to a woman and had a kid by her), and not only was this guy BORED with football and other sports, but he said he hated being around men who talked about sports incessantly.

Had a female co-worker who adores college football, and an Aunt who loves football.

My ex used to bring me roses and do other typical romantic stuff, and I usually didn’t care for it.

I was a tom-boy in childhood (I hated Barbie and other dolls; I preferred playing with trucks, Planet of the Apes action figures, etc.), and in adulthood, I differ from the stereotypical “girly-girl” churches expect women to be.

Churches need to stop perpetuating gender stereotypes, because people cannot be neatly categorized into little boxes. Even if 90% of all females are all “love ‘n rainbows” all the time, it makes the other ten percent feel left out and alienated in these sermons.

Also: a lot of women LIKE VIDEO GAMES, and I mean the violent ones, not “dress- a- pony.”

(Link): Maverick pastor gets crowds streaming into church after erecting a stripper pole behind pulpit

A local pastor said he put a stripper pole on his pulpit to help preach his message.

It may raise some eyebrows, but Pastor Mike Scruggs said he’s hoping it will save some marriages. Scruggs admits he’s anything but a traditional pulpit preacher.” We try to make it relevant, straightforward.

We don’t sugarcoat anything,” he said. On Friday, Scruggs’ sermon series drew a packed house at the Light of Word Ministries on Colerain Avenue.” We talk about sex. We talk about drugs. We talk about faith. We talk about relationships…, things that people are dealing with on a day-to-day basis,” Scruggs said.
The series of sermons is called the “Battle of the Sexes,” with some rather interesting visual props.” On one side, (we’ll have) what men want or desire: your stripper pole, your video games, your sports,” Scruggs said.

“The woman’s side (is) orderly, neat. It’s all about love, candy, teddy bears, roses and being wined and dined and cherished.”

Scruggs said his church focuses on real situations and brings godly solutions.” We push the envelope, that’s true,” he said.
