In San Diego, Porn Star Preaches Message ‘For Sinners By Sinners’ (Practicing Porn Star Active in Her Husband’s Church, Defends Porn) – story via The Roys Report

I’ve been saying at this blog for a good, long while that most churches and Christians stopped teaching or defending the concept of sexual purity years ago.

The church of today does not support “purity culture,” (and has not supported it for many years), contrary to what all the progressive feminists, or ex-Christians who rant against it, on Twitter say.

Many churches want to appear cool, hip, and trendy, in part, I think, to attract people who normally may not want to attend church. One thing they do to appeal to the non-churched is to brazenly advertise “pro sex” type of sermon series.

Churches today, and even many marriage-promoting Christian and “nuclear family” groups, no longer defend celibacy or virginity-until-marriage.

Some churches even hire and utilize known pedophiles to lead their “sexual purity” classes at and during church.
Some Christian couples openly engage in “swinging,” in which they allow their spouse to have sex with the spouse of someone else.
Yet other self professing Christians have been saying for years now that the God of the Bible is supposedly accepting of sex outside of marriage (no, the God of the Bible is not okay with pre-marital, or extra-marital sex).
(Seriously. For examples of this insanity, please see the links at the bottom of this post under “Related Posts.”)

Also, let this following report go to show, that contrary to a lot of assumptions of Baptists and evangelical Christians, married people are not more godly or ethical than single adults.

There has been a long-standing assumption by many Christians that (Link): all single adults are fornicating horn dogs who can’t keep their pants zipped up, but that all married couples are above sexual sin. Not so.

This story also goes to put a huge dent in a lot of the Christian “dating advice” type literature I read when younger, which said if you don’t have a spouse by a certain age, it’s because God is actively with-holding marriage from you, because you’re not “clean” or “godly” enough.

That perverts like the people in the story below are married goes to blow a hole through that teaching. You obviously don’t have to be very godly, or mature, responsible, or a good person to “merit” a spouse.

So far has the contemporary church sunk regarding sexual ethics, we now apparently have a preacher’s wife (with his knowledge and blessing) still working in, on, or for pornographic sites or movies while also working at her husband’s church (if I am understanding the news story correctly) and declaring herself a Christian:

Excerpts:

Angela Dela Cruz is a porn star, making a living from an industry widely considered evil and predatory. She’s also a pastor of Living Faith Church, a new church plant in downtown San Diego.

Angela and her husband, Stephen Dela Cruz, launched the church plant this summer, advertising it as “a church for sinners by sinners.” The church website further explains that the church’s leaders are “the biggest sinners, and this is the most non-judgmental church around!”

While the church website doesn’t identify its pastors, the couple has been open on social media about Angela’s involvement in adult entertainment and her role in the church.

Married Couple Raped Their Own Kids During “Swinger” Sessions Where They Allowed Pedophiles To Rape Their Kids Too

Married Couple Raped Their Own Kids During “Swinger” Sessions Where They Allowed Pedophiles To Rape Their Kids Too

A lot of secular conservatives who run pro-marriage, pro-nuclear family groups, and a lot of conservative Christians, such as Al Mohler, often like to release editorials, blog posts, or podcasts arguing that people need to be married with children, because, they maintain, only marriage and parenting can save society, and both are supposedly necessary to make a person more godly, mature, responsible and ethical.

Such conservative groups disparage singleness and the state of being childless.

Now, I happen to be a conservative myself, but I realize that the Bible doesn’t teach that the Nuclear Family will save society, or that God frowns upon singleness (the Bible states quite the opposite in 1 Corinthians 7).

I’m not even opposed to marriage, the nuclear family, or to parenthood, but I am in total opposition of conservatives who have turned any of those things into idols (which most of them have done), and who also disparage singleness or adult singles (or the childless or childfree) in the process (which they do frequently).

Here is yet another example on my blog (I have (Link): many more elsewhere on this blog) demonstrating that being a married parent does not ensure character or morality in a person:

Christian Rock Star Arrested In Connection With Child Sex Assault Probe Before Going on Stage

Christian Rock Star Arrested In Connection With Child Sex Assault Probe Before Going on Stage

The article says that this Christian rock star has a son. So, this guy is a father. I would assume that the rock star was married at one point (unless he had his son out of wedlock).

I point this out to say that a lot of conservative Christians and conservative secular think tanks keep arguing that “family values” and being “pro marriage” and people having children will somehow “fix” the United States. No, it won’t.

First of all, no passage in the Bible argues that the way to “fix” culture is to have more marriage and more natalism – chapter seven in 1 Corinthians actually says it is better to remain single than it is to marry. The Bible says a person must be changed by accepting Jesus as her savior, not by getting married and having kids. The Bible doesn’t talk about cleaning up culture.

Secondly, personal observation. There are way too many married people with children we all know, or have read about who are selfish, rapists, child molesters, or into selling drugs and what all (see some examples of that on this blog (Link): here and (Link): here).

Marriage and parenthood are not guarantees of making a person more mature, ethical, godly, principled, and responsible – but conservatives keep arguing otherwise, and it’s a highly deceitful and unbiblical argument for them to continue to advance.

Please see the bottom of this post for more remarks by me.

Rapist-Killer in 1972 Cold Case Is a Four Time Married Father

Rapist-Killer in 1972 Cold Case Is a Four Time Married Father

The news outlets are focusing on the fact that this is a 47 year old cold case that is now solved.

The police got the guy’s DNA off a coffee cup he threw away, and it matched the DNA on the boots of the victim. That is of course a very interesting aspect of this news story, but I wanted to highlight the portions that are more pertinent to my blog.

First of all, many Christians in Baptist or Protestant denominations and churches (at least when I was growing up in the 1980s, and a bit into the 1990s) would teach that God will only send a Christian a spouse later in life if he or she lived a godly life. That turned out to be a totally false teaching.

Secondly, a lot of Christians taught (and some still teach) that getting married is necessary to make a person mature, godly, ethical, responsible, and a whole host of other qualities.

Some Christians teach that parenthood is also a requirement, that if one never has biological children, one is immature, selfish, un-ethical, irresponsible and cannot know what “true (selfless) love” is. All of those beliefs are also a stinking pile of crap.

As we can see from the many examples on my blog (such as the one I’m sharing in a bit), marriage and parenthood do not make people more godly, loving, compassionate, or responsible. God does not refuse to allow awful people to get married.

The guy in the news story (Terrence Miller) raped a 20 year old woman, then shot her in the head, leaving her to die (she died on the way to the hospital – someone found her after the attack and tried to help her.)

If God required single adults to clean themselves up, or to become loving, lovable, or responsible, how oh how do slime balls like the rapist-killer in this news story get married FOUR times?

He obviously was not a paragon of virtue, yet he got married – to four different women. He also had kids with one or two of those women.

Also, secular culture (and some portions of complementarian Christianity) falsely teach that you won’t be able to get a partner if you are physically unattractive.

If you’ve ever seen the TV show “My 600 Pound Life,” you know that’s not true. Unless someone has a fat fetish, most people are not going to find someone over 300+ pounds to be smoking hot. And yet, a lot of the morbidly obses persons on that show do have boyfriends, girlfriends, or spouses.

The guy in this story – the killer – looks as though he fell out of an ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down, as my mother would say. (Some of the news articles published a photo of him that was taken when he was younger. (Link): this news page has a photo of this ugly deviant.)

He is not a good-looking man by any stretch, yet he managed to marry four times.

Another lesson learned: You don’t have to be incredibly sexy by society’s standards to wrangle a spouse.

Sunday School Teacher’s Husband, Stepdaugther Arrested for Her Murder, Made Up Panhandler Attack: Police – by L. Blair

Sunday School Teacher’s Husband, Stepdaugther Arrested for Her Murder, Made Up Panhandler Attack: Police – by L. Blair

In light of news articles such as this: conservatives need to stop promoting the Nuclear Family, parenthood, and marriage as being societal fixes. Secondly, Christians need to stop teaching, as some of them do, that marriage (or parenthood) is necessary to develop character in people.

Did marriage or being part of a nuclear family, or being a mother, help the woman in this news story at all? Nope.

Children’s Pastor, Decorated Detective, Commits Suicide After Child Porn Found on Church Computer by L. Blair

Children’s Pastor, Decorated Detective, Commits Suicide After Child Porn Found on Church Computer, by L. Blair

Another example of why single Christian women should give up on the “equally yoked” rule concerning dating and marriage, and why, perhaps, churches are not a good place to find dates.

One of the articles below says that this guy was married – a lot of Christians teach that marriage is necessary to make people mature, godly, and ethical, but did being married make this guy who was caught with child porn any more godly and ethical? Nope.

Also, some “how to get married” type literature I used to read while growing up – stuff that was written by Christians – usually suggested that if you remain single past the age of 25 or 30, it’s because you are “lacking” in some way.

Such Christian authors would suggest that you’re too sinful or too messed up in some way, and God was trying to “clean you up” before “allowing” you to marry.

When you see news articles below, do you really think that rationale is true? If it’s true that God demands about 100% perfection and godliness before he will send someone a spouse, how is it that Christian pedophiles like the man in this article managed to marry, he had children, grandchildren, and he worked in a church?

Obviously, taking such news stories as the one below into account, God does not hold anyone to a certain standards before he “permits” them to marry or “sends” them a spouse.

Christian School Teacher Whose Spouse Caught Her in Bed With Teen Sentenced by J. Salo

Christian School Teacher Whose Spouse Caught Her in Bed With Teen Sentenced by J. Salo

Does marriage make people more sexually pure, godly, loving, mature, or ethical, as so many Christians and politically conservative talking heads claim?

No, it does not.

This is the 100th millionth example on this blog of a married person who committed a serious sin.

Marriage does not make people more mature, godly, responsible, or ethical; “the family” or “marriage” will not save or fix a society.

Is married Christian sex “mind blowing,” as so much Christian teaching regarding sexual behavior suggests? Apparently not, if Christian wives like this feel the need to have sexual relations with a teen. Her husband wasn’t quite doing it for her.

Does someone have to obtain a standard of moral perfection, or some other criteria, before God will grant that person a spouse, as so many blogs, articles, and sermons by Christians suggest? No, obviously not, otherwise, this woman, who ended up being a skanky pervert, would not have gotten married.

The Green River Serial Killer and Necrophiliac Was A Christian Married Father

The Green River Serial Killer and Necrophiliac Was A Christian Married Father

There was a television special on a few days ago about Gary Ridgway, who is the Green River serial killer.

Several aspects of this pervert’s life are relevant to subjects I discuss regularly on this blog, so keep on reading…

Ridgway had upwards of around 70 women victims, most in age of about 15 to their early 20s, though a few may have been around 12 or 13 years old.

Most of Ridgway’s victims were prostitutes, some were runaway kids.

Ridgway later admitted to authorities to occasionally going back and having sex with the dead bodies of his murder victims.

Here is how this pervert’s story is relevant to this blog:

Point 1. Marriage and Parenthood Do Not Make People Into Godly, Mature, Responsible Adults

I grew up in Southern Baptist churches. Both my parents were Southern Baptists.

Like many other conservative Christian groups, Southern Baptists peddle some untrue and un-biblical notions about marriage, natalism, and the family unit: they tend to assume and they will also sometimes teach, that marriage or parenthood are necessary to make a person fully adult, mature, godly, responsible, and ethical.

Father, Son of Texas Baptist Church Both Arrested for Raping Teens, Sexual Assault of Children – So Much for Marriage Making People More Mature and Godly

Father, Son of Texas Baptist Church Both Arrested for Raping Teens, Sexual Assault of Children – So Much for Marriage Making People More Mature and Godly

But I thought that the nuclear family was supposed to erase all sin, including rape and child abuse, and that Male Headship under Complementarianism and Parenthood and Marriage made people more godly, loving, and ethical, as some Christians teach?

Here we have an another example where none of that is true (my Twitter friend ymmarta passed this along to me):

(Link): Father, Son of Texas Baptist Church Both Arrested for Raping Teens, Sexual Assault of Children

And why should any single Christian woman who desires marriage bother sticking to the “Equally Yoked” rule when so many Christian men – even ones who work in and for churches!! – are perverts? It makes no sense.

And why do so many Christians keep telling singles who desire marriage that they won’t get a spouse until they become more spiritual, more mature, more holy, or more “whatever?” If God permitted these teen-raping perverts to have a spouse, why not a law-abiding single adult?

Jeff The Married Church Attending Guy Who Likes to Wear Diapers and Be an Adult Baby

Jeff The Married Church Attending Guy Who Likes to Wear Diapers and Be an Adult Baby

Because you may think I am making this up (I can assure you I am not), there is a video below in this post from a clip of this episode.

I don’t hardly ever watch the TV show “Cheaters,” but I was up really early a few mornings ago and watched the last 5 – 10 minutes of one episode.

The husband in the episode (I believe his name was Jeff) was sneaking around with another woman behind his wife’s back. The “Cheaters” TV show crew caught him in bed with another woman, and he was wearing a diaper.

His wife, Susan, came in to the motel room, confronted the “mistress” (or whatever she was) and started screaming at Jeff her husband.

Jeff claimed there was nothing sexual going on, it was only about him pretending to be an adult baby.

Woman Admitted She Helped Her Husband Rape Two Children

Woman Admitted She Helped Her Husband Rape Two Children

Contrary to my fellow conservatives, marriage (or parenthood) do not necessarily make people more godly, mature, ethical, responsible or loving. Yet another example listed below. A very disgusting example.

Also note: contra Christian teachings, if you are single, God is not waiting on you to become more godly, more perfect, more spiritual, more loving, or more “whatever,” before he’ll permit you to have a spouse. If this teaching were true, we’d not see perverts like the one in the story below getting married.

(Link): Woman Admitted She Helped Her Husband Rape Two Children

A woman in Pennsylvania admitted she helped her husband rape two children. According to People, 31-year-old Holly Greiner was sentenced for her crimes.

In 2015, Holly and her husband, 29-year-old Robert Phillip Greiner, were arrested after a 10-year-old boy told West Manheim Township police what happened.

The child said he and a 5-year-old girl were sexually abused by the Pennsylvania couple over a six-month period.

Thoughts Regarding the Essay “3 Things Every Single Person Needs to Stop Doing”

Thoughts Regarding the Essay “3 Things Every Single Person Needs to Stop Doing”

Over at SCCL, this Relevant editorial was under discussion – (Link): here, on Facebook. You may want to read the comments there – this is one of those times I am in agreement with some (or most) of the SCCL commentators

Here is the article itself:

(Link): 3 Things Every Single Person Needs to Stop Doing by Q. Ross

I feel some of the advice on the page is okay – the author, Ross, basically tells you if you’re a single who wants to be married, go out and live your life – go on a cruise or whatever, don’t just sit around waiting for your life to start. That’s not necessarily bad advice.

In her editorial, Ross coaches singles not to complain about being single, which is a point I don’t agree with. Singles should be permitted to complain about being single if it helps them cope with the hurt, stress, or frustrations of being single, especially if the single in question had wanted to be married.

Singles needs to be heard (included any negative thoughts or emotions they’d like to share about singleness), not shushed by Christians who are uncomfortable with strong emotion. Singles don’t need any more platitudes, either.

Where things go south is where she suggests that if you’re still single, it’s because you have something wrong with you – God, she implies, is waiting for you to meet some kind of criteria before he will send you a spouse.

For example, Ross writes this:

Instead of complaining, show God that you are content with him alone and then maybe He’ll trust you with a relationship. He wants to know that when He does bring someone into your life, you won’t bail on Him and worship the gift rather than the gift-giver.

//end excerpt

As I’ve said time and again on my blog, I’ve seen far too many losers, weirdos, and violent people – whether Christian or not – who get married to believe that God requires people to become wonderful, mature, godly, or what have you, to earn a spouse.
