These should be boom times for sex.

The share of Americans who say sex between unmarried adults is “not wrong at all” is at an all-time high. New cases of HIV are at an all-time low. Most women can—at last—get birth control for free, and the morning-after pill without a prescription.

If hookups are your thing, Grindr and Tinder offer the prospect of casual sex within the hour. The phrase If something exists, there is porn of it used to be a clever internet meme; now it’s a truism.

BDSM plays at the local multiplex—but why bother going? Sex is portrayed, often graphically and sometimes gorgeously, on prime-time cable. Sexting is, statistically speaking, normal.

…But despite all this, American teenagers and young adults are having less sex.

To the relief of many parents, educators, and clergy members who care about the health and well-being of young people, (Link):teens are launching their sex lives later

…Over the past few years, Jean M. Twenge, a psychology professor at San Diego State University, has published research exploring how and why Americans’ sex lives may be ebbing.

Ex-Evangelicals Admit Their Religion Killed Their Love Lives: I’m ‘Literally Thinking About Hell’ During Sex

(Link): Ex-Evangelicals Admit Their Religion Killed Their Love Lives: I’m ‘Literally Thinking About Hell’ During Sex – Raw Story Site

(Link):  ANONYMOUS EX-CHRISTIANS OPEN UP ABOUT THEIR DAMAGED SEX LIVES

Excerpts from Raw Story site:

In a confessional piece on The Feed, ex-evangelicals lamented the oppressive influence their faith had on their sex lives and personal relationships with their partners, saying they were haunted by feelings of guilt and shame.

As pointed out by Hemant Mehta at the Friendly Atheist, former fundamentalist Christian Ruby Bisson (Claire) who writes about Christianity at The Gravity of Guilt, has been compiling stories told her by her readers who detailed not only how their deeply-held religious beliefs crippled their sex lives, but the lingering effects after they lost their religion.

According to one anonymous woman, “I can’t orgasm because I can’t relax. I’m literally thinking about hell. It’s been three years since I left Christianity but I can’t shake the thought that a guy who isn’t a Christian just wants me for my bod and I project that insecurity onto him. This is ultimately what ended my only two relationships.”

She then admitted how she tried to make it work.

“I made him pretend he was religious and didn’t want to have sex,” she explained. “I had to convince him it was a good idea. I made him pray at the end of the bed. Through that role play I was able to be the other person and that power allowed me not to freak out.”

Another former Christain said that she spiraled into a world of pornography at the age of 12, that left her secretly living in “shame and self-hatred.”

Woman Cancels Dream Wedding to Her ‘Best Friend’ After Discovering He Watches Lots of Porn

Christian sociologist Mark Regnerus would guilt trip or shame this woman into (Link): marrying the dirt bag anyway, because he, like a lot of Christian, does not value singleness, and he doesn’t respect women’s boundaries.

I assume this guy is looking at adult- on- adult porn. I think the only thing worse than that are, as I’ve read of, Christian women who discover the guy they married is a pedophile who looks at child porn.

Of course all the porn-viewing horn dogs are chiding this woman below the article on the site, and under the Tweet.

Wife Kills Husband in Argument Over Porn

Wife Kills Husband in Argument Over Porn

It doesn’t look to me as though marriage makes people more godly or mature. Al Mohler and other Christians need to walk back that pro- marriage propaganda they’re always spewing, in light of news items such as this:

(sorry, but I can’t finish this post tonight, my web connection sucks – I’ll see if I can fix things…)

According to one article, she killed him because he was watching too much porn on TV. Well, I hope that was some spectacular porn, because he paid for it with his life.

Weirdly, ‘porn again Christians’ – weekly churchgoers who also like to unwind with a bit of adult entertainment – are more likely to support women’s rights.

If fact, among weekly church goers, porn users were more likely to support abortion rights, more likely to be in favour of women in power, and more likely to be in favour of women working.

Liberals Bully Porn Actress Online For Refusing to Film Sex Scenes With Homosexual Actors

Liberals Bully Porn Actress Online For Refusing to Film Sex Scenes With Homosexual Actors

(Links to follow.) Story as I understand it: a porn actress, Ames, who identified as bi-sexual, tweeted that she refused to film sex scenes with a male actor known to also film homosexual sex scenes with other male actors, because she had health safety concerns.

After she tweeted that, Liberal Social Justice Warriors piled on, some even sending her death threats about it. They really think a woman should have to have sex with someone, or a certain type or category of person, even if she does not want to.

The day after receiving all this online bullying, the actress committed suicide by hanging.

I thought liberals were supposed to be pro-woman, feminist, and supportive of a woman’s chose? No, some of them are not (the ones who are wholly sold out for supporting a Liberal Agenda vs. sincerely helping all women), as this story once again demonstrates.

No, John Piper, God Doesn’t Kill Babies Because Their Dad Looked At Porn by B L Corley

No, John Piper, God Doesn’t Kill Babies Because Their Dad Looked At Porn by B L Corley

Piper is a crackpot Calvinist preacher who is, for some reason, don’t ask me why because I don’t see it, revered by a lot of Christians.

But he holds to some weird or repugnant views, such as refuted on this page by a guy named Corley.

(Link): No, John Piper, God Doesn’t Kill Babies Because Their Dad Looked At Porn by B L Corley

Nov 2016

…On a recent episode of (Link): Ask Pastor John, a distraught father wrote in and asked about his wife’s recent miscarriage and his struggle with looking at pornography.

Here’s what the man asked:

“Pastor John, did God cause, or would God cause, my wife to miscarry our child because I have a struggle with lust and pornography? I have a lot of guilt right now, and I don’t know how to think about God’s discipline and punishment for my sin. I’m very confused, please help.”

Piper’s answer was lengthy, and ultimately was, “I don’t know if God killed your baby because you looked at porn.” But the mere fact that Piper doesn’t know if his god would do something like this should be enough to reject his entire belief system.

Woman Fired From Christian Preschool Teaching Job For Having Porn Side Job

Woman Fired From Christian Preschool Teaching Job For Having Porn Side Job

Well. This is interesting for a few reasons, one of which is, the Christian school that fired her states that pornography is a form of fornication, but a preacher who writes sermon material for other preachers (Link): said that porn is NOT a form of fornication and so is supposedly not biblical grounds for divorce. LOL.

The woman in this story sounds as though she has a Geranium in her Cranium. I also feel rather sad about people who reduce sex to just a physical act devoid of any deeper meaning than finding it pleasurable. Women like this are objectifying themselves – sad.

Theology of Convenience, Expediency, and Borne of Culture – Christian Preachers and Writers Diminishing Seriousness of Sexual Sin

Theology of Convenience, Expediency, and Borne of Culture – Christian Preachers and Writers Diminishing Seriousness of Sexual Sin

Because American culture has seen a rise in the number of people, even Christians, using pornography and engaging in other forms of sexual sins, I’ve seen a disturbing and curious trend among some Christians (writers, commentators, preachers) in the last few years to downplay the seriousness of sexual sin, and to try to convince other Christians to just accept sexual sin as a normal part of life and marriage now.

And the people who pay for this lowering of standards is usually women. Women are once more expected, by male Christians, to bear the brunt of male sexual sin. Christians are always asking Christian women to endure and put up with male Christian sexual sin.

A few years ago, I created this post: (Link): Male Christian Researcher Mark Regnerus Believes Single Christian Women Should Marry Male Christian Porn Addicts and Regnerus believes as such because rates of porn use among Christian men have gone up quite a bit.

Regnerus feels if too many Christian single women refuse to marry Christian male porn users, then Christian marriage will come to a grinding halt, so, he feels, single women are obligated to marry a porn user, even if they really do not want to.

Not only have I seen articles saying that porn viewing has risen among single Christian men, but I’ve seen articles noting it’s on the rise among (Link): married Christian men (and (Link): women too).

Here are a few additional articles with numbers on Christian porn use:

(Link):  Survey: Alarming rate of Christian men look at porn, commit adultery

(Link): NEW SURVEY OF PORN USE: MEN AND WOMEN WATCHING IN STARTLING NUMBERS (2016)

Christian men view porn almost as much as non-Christians

According to the research approximately 64 percent, or two thirds, of U.S. men admit to viewing porn at least monthly, with the number of Christian men nearly equaling the national average. When divided by age “eight out of ten (79%) men between the ages of 18 and 30 view pornography at least monthly, and two thirds (67%) of men between the ages of 31 and 49 view pornography at least monthly. One half of men between 50 and 68 looks at porn monthly.”

The study claims three out of every 10 men between the ages of 18 and 30 are daily viewers of porn; three percent of women in the same age group purportedly access pornography daily.

— end excerpts —

Because sexual sins are running rampant among Christianity these days, it looks to me as though many Christians have given up, and they want to cave in to culture. They basically want to downplay or redefine certain sexual behaviors as not being so bad, not being truly unbiblical, or damaging.

Almost in all examples I have come across like this, where the male Christian writer is downplaying sexual sin or asking women to “put up with it,” the ones promoting these lax views are conservative Christians who believe in sola scriptura.

“Choose Porn Over Real Sex Any Day” – Re: Porn-Sexuals by G. Mullin

(Link): “Choose porn over real sex any day” – Re: Porn-Sexuals by G. Mullin

Excerpt:

A new sexual orientation to describe those who love porn even more than sex in real life has reportedly emerged.

Pornosexuality refers to those who identify with only being aroused by pornography and experience pleasure alone rather than through human interaction.

It differs from other sexual orientations because it’s a learned behavior that’s void of attachment or bonding with others.

People are more likely to become a pornosexual by watching X-rated material frequently as it desensitizes the brain and body, according to sex addiction therapist Christene Lozano.

She told Medical Daily: “The convenience of getting off online without the potential work, vulnerability, intimacy, and connection with others can be appealing to some.”

Porn Star Angers Churchgoers by Declaring She Is An Evangelical Christian And God Sees Nothing Wrong With Her Work

Porn Star Angers Churchgoers by Declaring She Is An Evangelical Christian And God Sees Nothing Wrong With Her Work

Talk about making God into your own image.

Some time ago, I posted a link to (Link): an editorial by a Christian sociologist who says Christian single women should not omit men based on the men’s use of porn – he says single women should marry men who use pornography.

Well, then, if a lot of Christian women suddenly started appearing in porn, would this same sociologist tell Christian single men that this should not be a deal breaker?

Would he advise single males that they should go ahead and marry women who appear in porn films?

Granted, there are a lot of perverted Christian men out there who would likely find the idea of marrying a porn film actress a turn-on, but for the tiny portion of those Christian men who actually take the faith seriously, I would assume that the idea of marrying a woman who screwed around a lot, and for money for movies, is a nauseating idea.

(Link):  Porn Star Angers Churchgoers by Declaring She Is An Evangelical Christian And God Sees Nothing Wrong With Her Work

A PORN star has outraged churchgoers by declaring she is an Evangelical Christian who believes there’s nothing wrong with her work in the eyes of God.

Kamilla Warneck is one of the hottest adult movie stars in Brazil and has appeared in hundreds of erotic movies.

Now the 25-year-old, who grew up in a deeply religious household, has caused controversy with her claims in an interview on X-rated TV show Pornolandia.

The hardcore actress declares she has an “Evangelical faith” and says she doesn’t believe it clashes with her career because she is a “good person at heart”.

Cheating Christian Man Tells Wife He is Not Built for Marriage – Take Carrie’s Advice On Cheating Jerks – Equally Yoked Is A Stupid Teaching

Porn Viewers Could Be Added to National Data-Base (UK)

Porn Viewers Could Be Added to National Data-Base

I think this may be for the UK only.

One advantage to practicing sexual self control – being a celibate, NOT viewing porn, and so on – is you’re not going to be caught in any embarrassing scandals, like the government knowing you like to view  porn at all, or that you like to view specific kinds of porn.

(Link):  Porn viewers could all be added to a country-wide database of viewing habits under new age verification scheme

One of the suggested mechanisms for checking how old people are involves creating an ID number for each person – meaning that every citizen will be part of a personalised database of their habits

The UK government’s plans to check whether people are old enough to watch pornography might include creating a database of everyone’s viewing habits.

The Government has recently been looking to introduce new checks to ensure that adult content can only be viewed by those over 18. To do that, it will introduce age verification schemes, and sites that don’t implement them will be rendered inaccessible from within the UK.

Those that are likely to be in charge of the process say that privacy should be at its heart. But the way that the systems are set up might not allow people to keep their data secure.

Youth Pastor Charged With Prostituting Teenage Boys, Drugging Them With Crystal Meth

With so many Christian men being the perverts they are, if you are a single, Christian woman, you stand a better chance, possibly, of meeting a decent Non-Christian guy.

I still cannot believe Christians continue to insist that single Christian women should only marry Christian men, when there aren’t as many Christian males as there are females, and the Christian males are rapists or child molesters, like this guy:

Just Because You’re Married, Doesn’t Mean Sexual Temptation Goes Away – Relevant

Just Because You’re Married, Doesn’t Mean Sexual Temptation Goes Away – Relevant

I’ve been saying this for ages on my blog: being married does not remove sexual temptation or guarantee sexual purity.

All Apostle Paul said in the Bible is that if one burns with lust, one should marry – but Christians often read into that Bible verse that Paul was implying that being married means a person will never sexually sin – which is not what he was saying.

I have (Link): many examples on my blog of married Christian men who have been arrested for, or caught, raping people, fondling children, having affairs, or using pornography.

The tweet for this put out by Relevant magazine was, “Just because you’re married, doesn’t mean sexual temptation goes away” but the headline on the page was:

(Link): 3 Ways to Fight Sexual Temptation Within Marriage

Singles and newlyweds alike often assume that, after getting hitched, married sex resolves the issue of lust. Personally, that was my assumption before I was married, but lust doesn’t go away even though marital sex may fulfill desire.

Lustful thoughts and glances for someone other than your spouse can still occur after the wedding night, and lust just doesn’t disappear even if you have a healthy marital sex life (as evidenced by pornography and adultery within marriage). And to state the obvious, it isn’t just men who have this issue within marriage.

After being married for two years, I found myself lustfully daydreaming about other men around the same time I discovered that pornography was an issue for my husband.

Long story short, through anger, tears, prayer, support from our church community and the grace of Jesus Christ, pornography isn’t an issue in our relationship anymore. But honestly, that doesn’t mean that lusting after others outside of marriage doesn’t still happen.

  • Understood in this wider sense, we’ve been living through an extended libertarian moment since the early 1960s.
