The Shiny, Happy People Program about Bill Gothard and the Duggar Family on Prime – Why Women Stay In These Awful Marriages and the Victim Blaming Aimed at Them by Christian Abuse Survivor Advocates

A few days ago, Amazon Prime made available a several program long commentary and investigation into the Duggar family (of “19 Kids and Counting” fame), as well as the teachings the Duggars followed, which were created by Bill Gothard and IBLP (Institute in Basic Life Principles) and ATI (Advanced Training Institute).

A lot of Christian parents raised their children under Gothard’s IBLP and ATI teachings, and many of them say as adults that they were damaged by those teachings.

Several of the women say when they were children or teens and worked under Gothard at his headquarters that they were sexually harassed. The show says at least one woman claims that Gothard, or his brother (I don’t recall which) raped her (the brother also worked with or for Gothard and this ATI / IBLP organization).

The purpose of my post here is not to give all the ins and outs of toxic Gothard teachings, but to note one or two aspects from the show. Before I do that, if you need or want some more background about any of this, here are a few links:

Before I get to the main point of this post – which would be “Christian abuse survivor advocates” who regularly harshly criticize Anna Duggar or women like her for staying in abusive marriages, I wanted to address one or two other issues first.

What I say here I may copy and paste into a new, separate post at a later date, because the observations I raise below bears repeating.

I’m a conservative who is not against marriage or the nuclear family, but I do disagree with how obsessed other conservatives are with promoting marriage and the nuclear family and criticizing or shaming any adult who hasn’t married and had children.

Growing up, I was hearing from conservative Christians regularly about how marriage supposedly makes a person more mature, responsible, or godly, and even today, conservative think tanks publish such bogus rhetoric.

Conservatives like Matt Walsh ridicule women for “pushing 50” (his terminology) and still being childless and single.

Speaking of Walsh – he recently criticized a man for going trans, the sidekick to a You Tube star named “Mr. Beast.” Walsh criticized the man for “transitioning,” because, Walsh said, the man’s wife would now be without a husband, and their son would be without a “masculine father.”

Okay, well, here’s my problem with Walsh and marriage-pushers like him (first let me give some background):

I’m in my 50s, and I never did get married. I tried to get married. I went to church singles classes, I prayed and asked God to provide me with a spouse, I tried dating sites in my mid 30s, etc, etc.
None of that worked, as I remain single by circumstance. (Christian dating advice on how to get married is dumb and incompetent, and many Christians will criticize you for pointing that fact of life out;
it makes Christians angry when they are confronted with the fact that their stupid dating advice, specifically of the “how to get married” variety, does not work. They prefer to victim-blame you or scream at you when you point out that Christian “how to get married” advice didn’t work and in some cases even played a role in holding you back from getting married.)

How can the Matt Walsh conservatives (the guys who hyper- market marriage) keep doing so, when so many marriages either end in adultery, divorce, verbal abuse, physical abuse, or in the creation of “Trans Widows?”

Trans widows are women who marry men, and the men later become crossdressers (who claim to be trans).

What is the frikkin’ point of getting married if the man you marry ends up “transitioning” into a fake woman (or he ends up neglecting your emotional needs, or he’s abusive)?

It’s better off for a woman to remain single than to marry some man who first more or less acts and dresses like a normal man, but then, after so many years of marriage says, “Honey, I feel like a woman trapped in a man’s body,” so he either starts perversely wearing women’s clothing and/or gets his penis chopped off?

A normal woman who wants a normal marriage is not going to want that. Some such women may not have a choice but to stay married to the guy if they’re financially dependent on him.

However, Rayna was struggling with her identity and confided in Jae on their honeymoon – who vowed to stick by her and helped her through her transition.

Five years on, the couple who are based in Somerset, plan to renew their vows with Rayna now living as her authentic self, and are trying to get a  gender recognition certification from the British government for her.

I think the title of this piece at the Christian Post was unfortunate.

When I first saw the headline go through my Twitter feed, I assumed (prior to clicking it) that it was the usual hyper-pro-male headship, complementarian type essay lambasting any woman who dares critique the obvious sexism in Christian complementarianism or patriarchy, which is not what it’s about.

My only other possible misgiving is that the author doesn’t call liberal, squishy conservative, or progressive Christian men out on this, or hold them accountable.

It’s not just the ladies who stay silent (or who ever give vocal support) to progressive gender ideology, but Christian men as well. I see them on Twitter on a somewhat regular basis doing so, both men and women.

Can we talk about the term ”the Jezebel spirit” for a minute?

The Canadian Cancer Society has recommended that transgender women should talk to their doctor about getting screened for cervical cancer.

Canada’s largest cancer charity, which is run by philanthropist Andrea Seale, said there is a ‘very small risk’ that transgender women can ‘develop cancer in the tissue used to create your vagina and cervix.’

The recommendation only extends to those who have had bottom surgery – a vaginoplasty – as those with male genitalia do not have a cervix, and therefore don’t run the risk of cervical cancers. A ‘neo-cervix,’ which can be made from penile skin, can contract human papillomavirus (HPV), which can lead to cancer and is leading cause of cervical cancer.

‘If you’re a trans woman and have not had bottom surgery, you aren’t at risk for cervical cancer,’ the Canadian Cancer Society wrote in an article.

‘If, however, you’re a trans woman who has had bottom surgery to create a vagina (vaginoplasty) and possibly a cervix, there’s a very small risk that you can develop cancer in the tissues of your neo-vagina or neo-cervix.’

The advice flies in the face of other cancer charities and healthcare providers. Britain’s National Health Service has told transgender women not to come for screenings as ‘you do not have a cervix.’

First Lady Jill Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken were slammed Wednesday for presenting a biological male from Argentina with an award for women on International Women’s Day.

…Commentators across Twitter balked at the idea of a person who had been born a man being bestowed with a women’s award.

Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, R-Ark., said, “It’s International Women’s Day – a good time to remember that Democrats can’t even tell you what a woman is.”

“Nice of FLOTUS to encourage the diminishment of women on ‘international women’s day.’ Erasing women is abusive,” host of The Dana Show, Dana Loesch, tweeted.

Well, I guess that settles that question!

A few years ago, when I was just becoming aware of progressive “intersectionalism” (I didn’t even know that term yet),  and I wrote a blog post about it back then, I wondered where exactly LGBTQ persons were in the far left’s Totem Pole of Oppression.

It was clear to me a few years ago that progressives were throwing women of all skin colors (especially white women) under the bus, but I couldn’t at that time figure out if it came down to it, if it were a Muslim Vs. a Black Man, or a Muslim Vs. a Transgender person, for example, which one would the neo-Marxist progressives side with?

It wasn’t yet clear to me who they considered to be the biggest victim group.

I thought at that time that possibly that Muslims would always beat out any LGBTQs, but that is not so!

Recently, a Muslim lady, Shumirun Nessa, made a TikTok video or two calling out LGBTQ weirdo and deviant Jeffrey Marsh for his grooming-like behavior.

The progressive nutcases didn’t like that at all! They started sending threats to the Muslim lady, and the progressive LGBTQ harassment got so bad (they even mentioned her daughters to her in their threats), that she issued a tear-filled TikTok video saying she’s since deleted all ofher Jeffrey Marsh content, but that didn’t seem to make the harassment go away.

Marsh’s behavior is in fact creepy, disturbing, and grooming-like.

If Marsh’s end goal is to educate children about Narcissistic Abuse, he is going about it the wrong way.

Marsh does engage in predatory- and grooming- like behavior, where he tells children to go “No Contact” with the adults in their lives (for most, that would be their parents), and he was telling them to contact him instead, and that he will be their family.

Often, one will hear the phrase “No Contact” in regards to cutting off a toxic or abusive person from one’s life – the phrase is most commonly associated with how to deal with a pathological narcissist in one’s life.

If Marsh is truly interested in the welfare of children dealing with difficult home lives, he’ll direct them to more appropriate persons or professional institutions to which they can refer, but he points children to himself on his private Patreon page, or something of that nature. That is highly inappropriate behavior.

As much as I take issue with Islam (it has problems with systemic sexism, as much as Christian gender complementarianism does), I don’t have a problem with people who practice Islam peacefully.

I am opposed to Marsh or any of his LGBTQ allies harassing this Muslim woman for her speaking her concerns and views about Marsh’s disgusting and suspicious behavior. They are acting like total dirt bags for harassing her and for stalking her.

This is another example of why I use a pen name. If you’re going to make videos, tweets, or blog posts, you should strongly reconsider using your real name online. I discussed that topic more in (Link): this recent post.

There are a lot of un-hinged wackos out there (of any and all political persuasions), some of whom will harass you, stalk you, or try to get you fired from your job.

Some of them, probably most of them, though, are progressive, and the progressives don’t believe in freedom of expression: if you publish material that is in opposition to their progressive, Marxist beliefs, they will harass you if given a chance, and they won’t limit this to online harassment but some take it to real life, too.

I’m not saying that people who do release material under their actual names are to blame if they are targeted, only that you need to think long and hard if you do want to write or vlog under your real name in light of all the kooks out there.

100 Percent Fed Up reports -Jeffrey Marsh, a transgender social media influencer, posts a lot of inappropriate videos encouraging children to join his Patreon so he can chat privately with them. Many of his videos are aimed directly at children, specifically those who don’t have a good relationship with their families.

Nessa made a video questioning the appropriateness of Marsh targeting kids and trying to get a private audience with them on social media.

What I say in this post is also applicable to anyone else, but as of late, we’re having a cultural moment in the United States (Great Britain and Scotland also seem to be having this same problem), where transgender persons, mostly biological men who claim to be women (“transwomen”) are demanding, or guilt tripping, others into constantly validating or accepting them and their new “woman” identity.

Just as I said in another blog post months ago about clinically depressed people having the ability to make choices and to make changes (and yes, they do have that ability), so too do these transgender people.

Just as a clinically depressed person is still responsible for his or own situation and happiness in spite of having depression, so too are transgender persons.

You may not be “to blame” for having a problem, whether it’s depression or whatever else, but you remain responsible for how you handle and deal with that problem.

A person granting another adult, (whether they suffer from depression or gender dysphoria), non-stop empathy, attention, validation, and acceptance, is not ultimately going to erase the person’s depression or dysphoria.

The empathy, the validation, and so on, that these emotionally damaged and needy people say they want, and that some of them rudely or arrogantly demand from others, only acts like a temporary band-aid to a very deep wound that needs surgery.

Your emotional wound and inner pain is not going to permanently go away until and unless YOU take charge and do something about it.

One of the things you can do about it is to start seeing a reputable therapist or psychologist, of the “non-woke” variety.

A woke, progressive therapist will only keep you trapped in what is making you unhappy to start with, largely by giving you that on-going validation you want – rather than help you find solutions you can actually start working on.

At the very least, seek out free, online self-help material by therapists and psychologists if you cannot afford regular mental health professional visits. Do not seek out help, advice, or empathy from places such as Reddit, TikTok, Instagram, or Twitter.

Other adults pitying you, giving you affirmation, calling you by your “preferred pronouns,” or reassuring you that yes, you’re a victim in life, and so on, will not solve your deeper problems.

Transitioning from being one biological sex to pretending to be the other biological sex likewise will not permanently, psychologically heal a person.

A female prisoner today warns of the dangers of putting transgender inmates in women’s jails after she was sexually assaulted by a paedophile rapist behind bars.

Laura Goldsmith, 38, revealed how she fell prey to notorious sex offender Karen White in HMP New Hall in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

In chilling echoes of the shocking case of transgender double rapist Isla Bryson being placed in an all-female jail in Scotland, Laura told how White was allowed to carry out a campaign of abuse in plain sight after being placed in the jail despite not having surgery and boasted how she was not having hormone treatment.

White was a convicted paedophile and serial sex offender on remand for grievous bodily harm.

White went on to be jailed for life after sexually assaulting two inmates at New Hall.

…Now Laura has come forward to reveal she too was a victim of the fiend when she was sent to the prison in February 2017 after being sentenced to 28 months for commercial burglary offences.

Laura told how she had been battling drug addiction and was ‘frail and vulnerable’ when White, 57, pounced after targeting her in the exercise yard.

Laura said White attacked her as she was sitting on a bench in the exercise yard one Saturday afternoon.

Laura, who is 5ft 3ins tall and weighed just seven stone, told how she was quickly intimidated by White’s presence.

She said: ‘She was very sleazy and forward. She tried to befriend me for two minutes – then came straight out with a sexual assault.

I follow a few social media accounts whose owners lurk at Transgender forums, Reddit areas, and so on.

Most of these Transgender spaces discussed on those social media accounts are MtF (male to female – biological males – people who were born male – who want to transition to be women, mostly by wearing dresses; these would be “transwomen”).

From what I’ve seen, there is a percentage of these men (I’m not going to call them women) who want to have relationships and sex with hetero, natal men, and most of them claim in their forums that they do not divulge upfront to the men they approach in bars or over dating apps that they too are men (transwomen).

Many of these guys seem to be homosexuals – they are men who are attracted to other men. They should’ve just stayed as regular men, skipped the mascara and skirts, and tried to date other homosexual males.

Then there is a smaller percentage of these guys who seem to be hetero – they’re normally attracted to biological women, but their desperate, pathological need for validation, to be seen as a ‘real’ woman (something they will never, ever be) runs so disturbingly deep that they think the only way they can receive validation is if a straight, biological man will have sex with them, and/or date them and view them as being the same as what they call “cis” (biological) women.

Some of these trans deviants are admitting in their online spaces to one another to already having engaged in one night stands with a lot of straight men already.

Some of them get quite descriptive with all the kinky, weird sex acts they performed on the straight, biological men they fooled into having sex with them.

A trans activist and author who signed a petition against the New York Times for publishing favorable pieces on publicly gender-critical author J.K. Rowling has publicly threatened to kill her and other “transphobes.”

Not that I think biological women should be allowed to reveal their nude breasts in public, but it seems rather… I don’t know… hypocritical for these social media companies to allow men who claim to be women to flash theirs, but not allow actual women to show theirs.

I thought part of the “validation” that these narcissistic trans kooks were aiming for were to be thought of, or viewed as, real women – well, part of being a real, honest to god woman is being TREATED LIKE ONE, which means being on the receiving end of rules, laws, and sexism that is aimed at biological women, such as natal women not being allowed in the United States of flashing one’s breasts in public or in photos on Facebook.

So why on earth are these social media companies banning NATAL women from displaying their nude chests but not the DEVIANTS who pretend to be women (transwomen)?

And if a biological woman says she’s “non binary,” are these companies going to let her flash her cleavage online? I assume that is what this means.

Progressives and their moronic, deviant views on sexuality and other topics is what leads us down this path of clownery.

Facebook and its subsidiary Instagram are modifying their regulations to allow transgender and non-binary users to post photos and videos featuring their bare breasts, according to an update published on Meta’s advisory board.

The same rules will not apply to biological females. The tech oligarchs will not permit women who identify as female to flash their bare breasts on the social media platforms.

That male rapists and other male criminals keep using transgenderism as an excuse to not be held fully accountable for their crimes, or to be housed in women’s prisons (where they have access to biological females they can sexually attack), is just one reason of a million I am vehemently opposed to far left trans activism.

There was fury today after a transgender rapist attacked two women as a man then changed gender before the trial.

Isla Bryson was a shaven-headed Adam Graham with a Mike Tyson-style face tattoo when they carried out the violent sex attacks in 2016 and 2019 after abusing the victims they originally met online.

Bryson, who claimed to have had gender issues since the age of four, began transitioning from a man to a woman in 2020 after being charged with the rapes.

The attacker denied the accusations, telling jurors any sex was consensual – although Bryson insisted she [he] did not like sleeping with women and they made the ‘first move’.

There was no reference to the 31-year-old having a gender recognition certificate during the trial.

It is understood Bryson is being held in a segregation unit at Cornton Vale women’s prison, where the attacker will be risk assessed ahead of sentencing to see where she [he] will serve her term.

Today Bryson was found guilty of the two rapes.
