Supposedly Woman-Honoring and Pro-Marriage Focus On the Family Group Wants Wives to Blame Themselves If or When Their Husbands Commit Adultery – Re: Book: ‘How God Used the Other Woman,’ by Tina Konkin

Supposedly Woman-Honoring and Pro-Marriage Focus On the Family Group Wants Wives to Blame Themselves If or When Their Husbands Commit Adultery – Re: Book: ‘How God Used the Other Woman,’ by Tina Konkin

I have some new developments in my personal life that have kept me busy the last month or two, which is why I’ve not been blogging as often.

During this time, I do recall seeing comments on other people’s blogs and on Twitter, about some idiotic, sexist, stupid book that “Focus On The Family” was recommending or selling.

Here is a page about the book by Tina Konkin that created an uproar:

(Link): How God Used “the Other Woman”: Saving Your Marriage After Infidelity via Focus On The Family site

Excerpts about that book from the site:

In How God Used “the Other Woman,” Konkin shares how she and her husband Ron saved their marriage after his affair and fought to make it better than ever before.
——

I am horrified to see that this Tina Konkin works as (or claims to be) (Link): a “relationship expert.”

This awful book of hers is also being sold at Wal-Mart.

From what I can recall, it’s a book for Christian wives that tells them how to approach their husband or their marriage if and whenever their husband should commit adultery,
and their view is that you, you Christian wife, should blame yourself for  your husband’s adultery, don’t hold him accountable, and just write off the situation as a learning experience.

Below you will find a few links or videos to work by other people refuting such a disgusting viewpoint.

Before I get to those resources, though, I wanted to point out how utterly hypocritical these conservative secular and conservative Christian groups are, who proclaim they respect women, and marriage, and The Nuclear Family. Transgender Activists Terrorize Women’s Rape Crisis Center with Hateful Graffiti by Matt Margolis

Transgender Activists Terrorize Women’s Rape Crisis Center with Hateful Graffiti by Matt Margolis

There are a few reasons I cannot support Transgenderism across the board, this is one of them: the harassment of, and misogyny against, actual (“cis”) girls and women in the name of Transgender activism
(and, if the trans activist killed the animal mentioned in this report to nail the animal to the door of this shelter, that makes this person an animal abuser as well, and all animal abusers are absolute scum – edit; second report says a dead skunk was also placed at the shelter by the trans rights group – again, if you kill animals, especially just to make a statement over something like this, you are a demented pervert and sicko, and no, I do not support your “cause”):

(Link): Transgender Activists Terrorize Women’s Rape Crisis Center with Hateful Graffiti by Matt Margolis

Excerpts:

August 2019

Why would anyone vandalize a rape crisis center? What kind of a twisted mind would do such a thing? In this “brave new world,” where the feelings of transgender individuals trump commonsense and the privacy of everyone else, it appears that transgender activists have decided to oppose offering relief services for victims of rape, and shelters for women and children because of the strict “women only” policies that exclude men who claim to be women.

….[Editorial quotes from (Link): Trans activism’s latest trick: vandalizing women’s shelters by Meghan Murphy]

On Tuesday, Vancouver Rape Relief & Woman’s Shelter (VRRWS) tweeted images of vandalism left on their storefront — a space used for meetings, events, and support groups. ‘Kill TERFs,’ ‘F**k TERFs,’ ‘TERFs go home, you are not welcome,’ ‘Transwomen are women,’ and ‘Trans Power’ had been scrawled across the windows and door in black marker.

‘ TERF,’ for the blissfully ignorant, is an acronym that stands for ‘trans-exclusionary radical feminist.’ This is, of course, a misnomer.

Radical feminists are not interested in ‘excluding’ trans-identified people from anything.

What they  are interested in is protecting certain spaces designated for women and girls.

Family Values Won’t Stop Mass Shootings – Lawmaker Who Blamed Dayton Massacre on Same-Sex Marriage and Break Down of the Family Urged by GOP Leader to Resign

Family Values Won’t Stop Mass Shootings – Lawmaker Who Blamed Dayton Massacre on Same-Sex Marriage and Break Down of the Family Urged by GOP Leader to Resign

I’m a conservative person and was a life-long Republican until 2014/2015. So, I’m certainly not a left wing, family- or family-values hating person.

However, I do believe that other conservatives over-estimate the importance of, or the effects of, the nuclear family, marriage, and “family values.”

I have (Link): plenty of examples on my blog of self-professing, God-fearing “family men,” who even tout family values, who do things like rape children or beat their wives.

Even if every one in our nation was married with children, and professed belief in Christ, we’d still continue to have sin – we’d have mass shootings, rapes, and the like.

Granted, if people were sincere about following Christ and his teachings, maybe some of those things would decline, but I don’t believe any of those things would give us a crime-free society.

The Bible doesn’t say any where the marriage, the nuclear family, and (Link): being a parent will make people into better, more ethical people. The Bible points people to Christ, not to marriage or pro-creation.

Family values, the family unit, marriage, and natalism have not stopped men from raping children and beating their wives – again, I have plenty examples on my blog of married men who are fathers to children who have been arrested for raping their own children, selling their own children to other men for sex, for beating and murdering their wives (see here and here).

And, by the way, I don’t think video games or homosexual marriage causes mass shootings, either. This lady is wrong.

(Link): Ohio lawmaker blames mass shootings on open borders, homosexuality, video games

Excerpts:

Candice Keller is a Republican state representative from Middletown, a small city 30 miles south of Dayton, where a gunman killed at least nine people and wounded 27 others early Sunday. In a now-deleted Facebook post, she wrote: “After every mass shooting, the liberals start the blame game. Why not place the blame where it belongs?”

The post listed reasons Keller thought the United States is grappling with mass shootings, including “the breakdown of the traditional American family,”… Continue reading “Family Values Won’t Stop Mass Shootings – Lawmaker Who Blamed Dayton Massacre on Same-Sex Marriage and Break Down of the Family Urged by GOP Leader to Resign”

Cross-Dressing Four Foot Ten Inch Pervert Disguised Himself As A Granny To Grope Young Women And A Schoolgirl

Cross-Dressing Four Foot Ten Inch Pervert Disguised Himself As A Granny To Grope Young Women And A Schoolgirl

If this took place in the United States, all this perverted sicko (who is a biological man) has to do with American liberals is claim he is “identifying as a woman,” and the liberals would gladly allow him access to women’s / girl’s locker rooms and bathrooms, where he would proceed to sexually abuse actual women and girls.

But since when do most liberals (who claim to be feminist) actually CARE about the safety of girls and women? They do not – they’d rather protect Transgenders and Muslims at the expense of (cis / hetero) girls and women.

Anytime the safety or needs of actual, honest to god women come into conflict with the liberal favored pet groups of Muslims and Transgenders, the liberals always choose their pet group and throw women under the bus…

Some secular liberal feminists (and even some of the religious, progressive Christians) are fine with putting girls and women at risk if it meets the goals of their “progressive” politics.

A CROSS-DRESSING pervert who disguised himself as a granny to prey on young women has been caged for three years.

Paul Reed, who is just 4ft 10in, donned a coat, wooly hat and scarf wrapped across his face to take on his ‘old lady’ persona.

The 57-year-old then targeted two young women and a teenager outside transport stations and hospitals.

Reed, from Chatham, Kent, had previously been banned from chatting with females while with females while wearing the disguise after being convicted of sex offences in 2007.

April 2019

by Alana Mastrangelo

Police are investigating a hit and run accident they consider a “bias incident” after a man allegedly followed the president of the South Seattle College Turning Point USA (TPUSA) organization with his vehicle as she walked to her car on Thursday.

The incident — which occurred following an argument between the two individuals over TPUSA signage on campus — resulted in the conservative student calling 911 after the man struck another vehicle while circling her with his SUV. The suspect is still at large.

Conservatives Have Now Abandoned All Pretense of Advocating For Sexual Abstinence and They Actually Lament the Lack of Fornication – The Bradford Wilcox Piece, 2019

Conservatives Have Now Abandoned All Pretense of Advocating For Sexual Abstinence and They Actually Lament the Lack of Fornication – The Bradford Wilcox Piece, 2019

The following piece at The Atlantic (“The Happiness Recession”) was written by marriage-idolater and anti-singleness bigot of The Institute for Family Studies, W. Bradford Wilcox, and co-writer Lyman Stone.

I’d like to remind any new-comers to this blog that I am a life long conservative. I am not a liberal.

Marriage Is Not A Guarantee For Good or Regular Sex

This moronic essay actually suggests that single adults having less sex is what has led to them reporting higher rates of unhappiness, if I’m understanding things correctly.

This, astonishingly, from a right wing organization, (Link): The Institute For Family Studies, that claims to promote “strong families,” and good Lord knows they are obsessed with promoting marriage, even if that comes at the expense of singleness.

The members of this organization regularly publish materials intended to scare, guilt, shame, or pressure single adults into getting married, because this organization exists to promote the nuclear family: hetero-marriage where the couple have children.

My Thoughts Regarding the Editorial: Sex & The Single Pastor by Rod Dreher

My Thoughts Regarding the Editorial: Sex & The Single Pastor by Rod Dreher

The following editorial by Rod Dreher is about a liberal Luthern preacher named Nadia Bolz Weber who recently had a bunch of women’s “sexual purity rings” melted down to have an artist form them into the shape of a vagina.

Bolz Weber also released a new book about sex called “Shameless.” It’s an anti-Purity Culture book.

The author of this essay, Dreher, refers readers of his piece to (Link): this page (“The Luthern Pastor Calling For a Sexual Revolution”) at the New Yorker about Bolz Weber.

I was a devout Christian for many years, and that is one reason among a few as to why I remain a virgin past the age of 45.

That’s right, I’ve never had sex – because I was waiting until I got married to have sex, but I never found the right guy to marry.

I have spent a few years blogging here pointing out how nobody but nobody respects adult virginity or celibacy.

Many conservatives and Christians mock and insult adult celibacy and virginity, not just “sex positive” feminists or liberals.

As a matter of fact, a lot of Christians (and secular conservatives) view marriage to be the norm, and as something that can “fix” society, so they shame or insult anyone who remains single past the page of 30, whether that singleness is due to choice or circumstance. (I have examples of this sort of thing in older posts on this blog.)

Response to the Alex Parker Piece ‘Feminist Rages Against GirlPal ‘Galentine’s Day,’ Says No Women Are Lonely, Praises Group Vomiting’

Response to the Alex Parker Piece ‘Feminist Rages Against GirlPal ‘Galentine’s Day,’ Says No Women Are Lonely, Praises Group Vomiting’

A conservative editorialist at the Town Hall site, Alex Parker (who I assume is a man), mocks an (Link): anti-Galentine’s Day essay written by a secular, liberal feminist named Rachel Hosie.

“Galentine’s Day” is a new holiday where women friends can celebrate their friendships with each other on February 13th.

The secular feminist that Parker is responding to believes that Galentine’s Day is patronizing to single women, so she is not in support of the holiday.

As a never-married woman who is over 45 years of age who had wanted to be married, but it didn’t come to pass for me, I came to terms with being never-married years ago, so Valentine’s Day no longer bothers me the way it used to.

I don’t have strong feelings for or against Galentine’s Day.

While Hosie’s contention may be true that Galentine’s Day is patronizing towards single adulthood (which is a bad thing), I see it as ultimately a harmless day for women to spend enjoying the friendship of their women friends, so I don’t object to the holiday.

I do however object to a few of the points that Parker made while trying to dismantle Hosie’s arguments.

I will provide excerpts from the Parker editorial and then offer my observations:

(Link): Feminist Rages Against GirlPal ‘Galentine’s Day,’ Says No Women Are Lonely, Praises Group Vomiting

Excerpts:

[Hosie the liberal feminist writes,]

Actually, we don’t need your pity — and the whole concept perpetuates the ridiculous myth of the sad, single woman.

[To which conservative Parker replies,]

The ridiculous myth?? How is it a myth, and how is it ridiculous?

Men want women, and women want men; that’s why we have February 14th … Thursday’s gonna find some people without dates; some portion of those will have ovaries; and some of those are gonna be none too thrilled.

Oh, wait — I forgot; this is 2019.

Okay…women aren’t women and men aren’t men and women don’t have to be like men or women, and there are no men or women…
–(end quotes)—-

My comments regarding this portion of the exchange:

Spinsters and Crazy Cat Ladies

I cannot believe Parker is feigning ignorance of the “sad, pathetic” single woman trope.

Being a conservative who is critiquing a liberal or feminist essay does not mean having to act ignorant of certain societal truths in the process.

Is America Ready For A Single President? by J. Weiss

Is America Ready For A Single President? by J. Weiss

This article, or the tweets advertising it, were saying that the public is “fascinated” by “bachelors.”

It’s so sexist. The public has never been “fascinated” by women who remain single. We single, (never-married) women instead get insults and derogatory labels such as “cat lady” or “spinster.”

(Link): Is America Ready For A Single President?

Excerpts:

by J. Weiss, Feb 9, 2019

Cory Booker is about to find out just how much U.S. attitudes about politicians and their personal lives have shifted.

A bachelor in the White House? It’s such a compelling scenario that Aaron Sorkin once wrote a movie about it.

“The American President” came out in 1995, years before “The West Wing” and decades before never-married Senator Cory Booker announced own run for president. Michael Douglas stars as a widowed commander in chief who falls for an environmental lobbyist. (They meet cute when he overhears her insulting him in a White House meeting room.)

Their courtship is a lesson in the perils of presidential dating: the media mob, the character attacks, the moment where the president has to choose between his crime bill and his girlfriend’s clean air bill. On the second date, he also seems to tell her some classified security information, though the movie doesn’t make a big deal out of that.

It’s clear that every moment is a minefield, for both the president and the person he’s trying to woo—something Booker seems to grasp as he makes the media rounds in these early days of his campaign.

During his appearance on the syndicated morning radio show “The Breakfast Club” early this month, the conversation turned to his dating life—“Cory Booker got a boo?” exclaimed a host named Charlamagne—and the man known for glib speeches in Senate hearing rooms got cagey, all of a sudden. “Out of all the issues we talked about,” Booker stammered, “this is the most uncomfortable part of this interview.”

Like it or not, it’s going to keep coming up. Continue reading “Is America Ready For A Single President? by J. Weiss”

Conservatives Are Rather Inconsistent About Morals and Women’s Sexuality – Regarding: The College That Considers Valentine’s Day Cards A Form of Sexual Harassment

This post contains one or two “adult” words, towards the bottom.

I am conservative. I’ve never been a liberal.

I do sometimes spot troubling contradictions or inconsistencies with other conservatives, however. This is one of those times.

So, I’m glancing at this editorial on a right wing site about liberals at some college campus possibly banning the handing out of Valentine’s Day cards, because they could be considered a form of sexual harassment by some students.

Here’s a link:

(Link): Valentine’s Day cards face ban as ‘sex harassment’

Here are excerpts from that page – I will address the problems I have with this below:

Students at the University of New Orleans should think twice about sending out any Valentine’s Day cards if they don’t want to risk being expelled for sexual harassment, according to a free-speech advocacy group.

Liberal and Democrat Incivility, Harassment, Or Violence Against Conservatives or Republicans, 2006 – 2018 (examples, with links to news sites)

Liberal and Democrat Incivility, Harassment, Or Violence Against Conservatives or Republicans, 2006 – 2018

In light of the fact that a kook who appears to be a Trump supporter and liberal hater, (Link): Cesar Sayoc was arrested today for using the United States postal service to send pipe bombs to various Democrats (including former presidents Bill Clinton and Obama), liberals and Democrats have been playing the blame game, and saying that Trump’s rhetoric is to blame.

Here are a few more links about Sayoc:

(Link):  Pipe bomb suspect Cesar Sayoc is a registered Republican and a Trump fan with a criminal record

(Link):  Cesar Sayoc Identified As Mail Bomb Suspect

(Link):  From tweets to bombs, suspect’s rage at Trump foes escalated

So, liberals – especially those in left wing media – have been saying Trump is responsible for Sayoc’s behavior, and they are demanding that Trump apologize for what Sayoc did.

Excuse me, but for the past several years, especially since Trump was elected in 2016, those on the left have been going bonkers:
Doing things like forming mobs to attack people on the streets in large scale protests (they especially  like to target anyone wearing a Trump supporting “M.A.G.A.” hat);
following Trump staff or other Republicans into restaurants to yell at or heckle them, while the left,
including but not limited to democrat politicians such as Maxine Waters, has a history of telling other Democrats to harass or commit violence against Trump supporters, Republicans, and/or conservatives (examples of this below).

I remember when George W. Bush (Republican) was in office, and later, when Sarah Palin (Republican) ran for office, liberals and Democrats were making jokes about those Republicans getting killed or being gang raped.

This behavior is coming from the same guys who scream and complain that all conservatives and Republicans are supposedly mean, intolerant, bigoted, and hateful.

Further, liberals and Democrats have the audacity to sit around today and blame the heated political climate solely on Trump? Oh no you don’t.

I left the Republican party a few years ago, but there is no way I could ever become a Democrat, largely because of the vile behavior by Democrats you see below, but also what grates on my last nerve even more is the staggering hypocrisy. Many Democrats and liberals often participate in the very behavior they say they see and hate in Trump, conservatives and Republicans.

The Authors at The Federalist Site Often Don’t Get It: Joy Pullman is Fine With Men Harassing Women Who Wear Headphones In Public – Part 1

The Authors at The Federalist Site Often Don’t Get It: Joy Pullman is Fine With Men Harassing Women Who Wear Headphones in Public – Part 1

I am quoting portions of an essay at The Federalist site in order to offer a rebuttal to it. Link is below.

The Federalist is a conservative web site.

I’m a conservative.

However, I am a conservative who is truly and actually repulsed by sexism against women – and yes, many conservatives will say they are as well – but then they go on to mock and ridicule the very legitimate concerns raised by other women, which means, ultimately, they are supporting and defending sexism despite their avowed concern for women and girls.

Let’s examine one example of this very thing. From the right wing site The Federalist comes this editorial written by a Joy Pullman (yes, the author of this appalling piece is a woman – one usually only sees such dreck from conservative male authors):

(Link): Even Women With Headphones May Want A Man To Chase Them

Here is the obnoxious sub-heading on that page, which was published in September 2016:

Back off, uptight whiners, and stop making public and romantic life so much less fun for everyone. Some ladies like a good chase.
–(end quote)–

I’m surprised a woman wrote this piece, because it conveys a lot of the stupidity, the ignorance of women, and wrong, sexist assumptions many men have of women, but this is written by a conservative woman – so maybe I should not be surprised.

A lot of conservative women (I myself am conservative, but please recall, I don’t agree with them on all topics) hold this bizarre and wrong position that the automatic, correct position on any topic pertaining to gender that feminists, or all women as a group (which may or may not include feminists), are championing or upset about, must be to adopt the direct, opposite position.

And that is an incredibly stupid and irresponsible position for conservatives to take, for, like broken clocks, (Link): even liberal feminists are correct at least twice a day.

Supreme Court Nominee Kavanaugh and Virginity

Supreme Court Nominee Kavanaugh and Virginity

So, Brett Kavanaugh is Trump’s nominee for Supreme Court Justice.

Apparently Democrats leaked the personal information of Dr. Christine Ford, who claims that when younger, Kavanaugh pushed her on to a bed, put his hand over her mouth, and was attempting to undress her.

It was either Ford or another woman who knew Kavanaugh when he was a teen or young 20-something who claims Kavanaugh exposed his genitals to her.

Kavanaugh was called before a Senate committee last week (great parody (Link): here)

Anyway – I was raised in the Christian faith, and partly due to that and Christian sexual ethics teachings – which stress that sex outside of marriage is sin – I’ve yet to have sex, I am still a virgin, as I’ve never married. I’m in my 40s.

One thing I’ve noticed is that not only does a large swath of secular culture mock sexually abstinent people, but so too does Christian culture and conservatives.

Your average liberal or feminist wants culture to respect any and all sexual actions and choices, yet, they will mock adults who are celibate or are virgins (I have examples of this on previous post on this blog).

Christians and conservatives frequently mock or warn about sexual promiscuity, they like to shame women who have children outside of wedlock., and yet, Christians and conservatives also are un-supportive or adults past the age of 29 who are sexually abstaining.

Yes, Christians and some conservatives will SAY that they respect adult virginity, but in truth, they do not. Some of them openly mock or ridicule anyone who is chaste and/or single past the age of 25, while some of their other attitudes of sex – such as a very “easy forgivism” attitude in regards to fornication or an assumption that every unmarried adult page age 18 is sexually active – belie and contradict their so-called respect for chastity.

So, one topic of several I’ve blogged about here regularly for the last few years have been virginity and celibacy.

I’d say many people in American culture would define or understand virginity, in the context of hetero relationships, to say that one “loses one’s virginity” if one engages in penis- in- the- vagina (or anus) physical contact.

(That’s pretty much my understanding of the word and concept, as well.)

Brett Kavanaugh was defending himself by saying that he was a virgin through high school and during part (or all?) or his college years.

Being a virgin does not prohibit or preclude a man from doing the things Kavanaugh was accused of, such as allegedly exposing his penis to one young lady, and pushing another woman down on a bed and attempting to remove her clothing without her consent.

A virgin can, in fact, expose him or herself and still technically remain a virgin.

A virgin can pin a woman down to a bed, cover her mouth, and paw at her clothing and still remain a virgin, if one understands “virgin” to mean “no penis in a vagina and/or anus” definition.

I notice that nobody in our culture values or respects virginity unless it can “come in handy” like in this very specific case where Kavanaugh is trying to depict himself as an innocent choir boy who was incapable of groping women or exposing himself, all because he never went “all the way.”

Some of the attitudes that secular society has against virginity, which the author, Creech, outlines below in his piece I have copied, are also the same in much of the Christian community, and among secular conservatives.

As I have noted elsewhere on my blog, in blog posts now a few years old, there are well-known Christians, some are pastors, some are book authors and bloggers, who also doubt that anyone can remain a virgin past the age of 18 or 29.

Many Christians and conservatives believe, to use one phrase I’ve seen them use in discussing this subject, that it takes a “Herculean effort” to remain a virgin past one’s twenties.

Yet other Christians assume, quite wrongly, that if someone is a virgin past the age of 18 (or 29), it must be because that person lacks a libido, and/or that God “gifted them with celibacy,” and that God also supernaturally empowers that person to resist having sexual relations – all of which is false.

God does not “gift” anyone with celibacy, or with a supernatural ability to resist sex. The reasons why a person is able to maintain celibacy comes down to self-control, choice, and personal conviction, and it’s something that everyone can accomplish, but most do not want to, because they are too selfish or lazy.

It’s easier for the Christian fornicators out there to assume that anyone who didn’t fornicate like they did must be especially exceptional in some regard, as in, God waved a magic wand and gave that person some super ability to resist sexual temptation, or God removed all sexual desire from the person.

(Link):  Kavanaugh’s ‘Virgin Defense’

By Christian Post Columnist, Rev. Mark H. Creech

 1 Oct 2018

In reference to the allegations of sexual assault against him, Judge Brett Kavanaugh said in an interview with Fox News’ Martha McCallum, “I did not have sexual intercourse or anything close to sexual intercourse in high school or many years thereafter.”

“So you are saying that through all these years in question that you were a virgin?” asked McCallum. “That’s correct,” said Kavanaugh.

Kavanaugh also referenced the same during his latest testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday, saying his abstinence from sex during those years was a matter of “faith, respect, and caution.”

Some now are calling this “The Virgin Defense” and find Kavanaugh’s claim highly suspect and worthy of ridicule.

Transgender Bathroom Crime Study Misses The Mark – Transgenderism and Women’s Privacy

(Link): New “Transgender Bathroom Crime” Study Misses The Mark

Interesting comment at the bottom of the page by Miles Coburn:

What gets me is abortion was greenlit in society on the basis of “penumbras of privacy” on the part of women’s rights. And now, actual privacy concerns are being disregarded.

Now that he mentions it, yes: why do so many liberals insist that a woman should have a right to privacy regarding abortion (and not every woman gets one), but a lot of women use public bathrooms and restrooms, and these same liberals believe that biological women don’t deserve privacy? That a biological man’s rights (a man who thinks he is a woman) trumps a woman’s privacy or right to safety?

The Dating Swamp: How Finding Love in DC May Be Impossible For Young Trump and GOP Staffers – Liberals Hypocritically Insist You Date Transgender Persons But Not Trump Voters

(Disclaimer: I personally did not vote for anyone in the 2016 Presidential race, because I did not care for any of the candidates)

Wait. I’m confused.

Most Liberals insist other people date not based on personal preferences but on political correctness.

So, for example, pro-Trans activist Liberals yell and scream at CIS Lesbian women to date Trans women, even though many lesbians have made it clear they prefer to date other CIS (lesbian) women.

But now, liberals are not willing to date Republicans or Trump voters? They will supposedly date, or advocate that others date, people with penises who claim to be women, but they won’t date Republicans or whomever or whatever differing political persuasion? What?

(Link): The Dating Swamp: How Finding Love in DC May Be Impossible For Young Trump and GOP Staffers

Excerpts:

Trying to find love in D.C. can be tricky. If you’re a young Trump administration staffer, it might be near impossible.

GOP employees and other right-wingers have been complaining that dating in one of the most Democratic cities in America is a political minefield.

They’ve been called out, flipped off and told they are personally responsible for the death of democracy.

One 29-year-old lobbyist told Fox News that learning to date in a Trump world is “absolutely insane.”

“It’s getting so bad,” the lobbyist, who asked to remain anonymous because she works with the administration, said.

The Unfortunate Anti-Virginity Fall-Out from Christian Misogynist Lori Alexander’s  Wacky “Debt Free Virgins Without Tattoos” Post – The Problem is Not Supporting Virginity, It’s Complementarianism

Updated:

Lori Alexander has posted this (unhelpful) clarification of her post (about “Debt Free Virgins with Tattoos”) on an ultra-conservative political forum:

(Link): Godly Men Prefer Debt Free Virgins Without Tattoos – by Lori Alexander, on Free Republic

Her new aspect is to add the word “Godly” prior to the word “Men,” as if that makes it less obnoxious or wrong, but it does not.

I used to lurk at the Free Republic site, back in my more conservative days, but I’m not surprised to see most of the posters under Alexander’s post on that site actually agreeing with it.

Of course they do.

I’m still a conservative, but I’m no longer off the reservation about it, as the Freepers are on some things, like on this topic.

If you are new to my blog, a recap:

I am over 45 years of age and still a virgin.

I was reserving sexual activity for marriage. I’ve never had sexual intercourse. I was expecting to be married but never found Mr. Right.

I do have a libido.

Contrary to what Christians ASSUME about older virgins, Celibacy, being sexually abstinent for as long as I’ve been, is not “a gift” where God granted it to me and supernaturally removed my libido and makes it easy-breezy to cope with.

For many years, I was dedicated to remaining a virgin until marriage, due to Christian ethics, (these days I’m semi-agnostic), but also due to other reasons as well, which I shall not get into here but have explained in older posts on the blog.

In the last ten or so years, I’ve seen a disturbing trend where secular, liberal feminist views about sex have trickled into liberal Christian corners, where there is much railing against “slut shaming” and there is strong opposition to judging any woman for her sexual behavior or choices.

This trend became so common that these same views, disturbingly, began appearing on liberal Christian blogs and sites, whose progressive, feminist, Christian authors began writing editorials saying virginity is of no import, God only cares about your heart and spiritual purity, and God does not care so much anyone’s sexual behavior, (Link): intact hymen, or sexual past.

This anti- sexual purity thinking (which includes the down-playing, condemning, or mocking of physical virginity and adult celibacy) has even crept into mainstream moderate- to- conservative churches and Christian writing and thinking, unfortunately.

Why Are Conservatives Forcing Mothers From Their Kids? by M. Walther

Why Are Conservatives Forcing Mothers From Their Kids?

I am marginally still a social conservative, but as the months go by, I find myself drifting further and further away from it (though I’ll never be a liberal).

I was a stalwart social conservative for many years, but I’ve become more attuned to some of the hypocrisy or double standards contained within some socially conservative points or views.

One of the things I’ve struggled with the last couple of years is that Republicans (I’m an ex Republican) and social conservatives claim to be “pro-family,” yet, they often want to push through policies that cut off or limit families or kids or single mothers in some way.

Yes, I grasp that Republicans are for smaller government and want to cut expenses, but I don’t see how they can do that in the area of family benefits.

How can you claim to be “pro family” and to support children, and say that liberals are the evil anti-family types, when you keep promoting legislative material that wants to cut funding for families or kids? (Please see the “Related Posts” section at the bottom of this post for more.)

By the way. Many social conservatives and Christian conservatives fret, fret, fret that marriage and baby-making are on the decline in the United States – see for example links on my blog such as this one –

(Link):  Conservatives and Christians Fretting About U.S. Population Decline – We Must “Out-breed” Opponents Christian Host Says

And yet, they penalize women who do become pregnant and give birth. If you are a Republican, Christian, or social conservative who thinks family is great, motherhood is great, and that women should have more children, then why on earth would you penalize women who do in fact give birth?

Shouldn’t you be willing to help all mothers – whether single or not – more? I don’t understand the hatred for mothers who need a helping hand from the very people who bray on and on about how horrible it is today’s culture supposedly disregards motherhood and the nuclear family.

Many Republicans, social conservatives, and Christians I’ve seen since I’ve been a teenager reading political columns, have regularly argued that children are better off if their mothers stay at home, rather than dropping them off at a daycare to hold down an outside-the-home career.

But as this editorial by Walthers explains, some of the Republican reforms of welfare has forced women into working outside the home, thus leaving their children motherless during the day.

How is it out of one side of their mouths that conservatives are saying it’s bad for women who are mothers to work outside the home, but then forcing them into the position to do that very thing?

What would happen, I wonder, if all the Republican state senators in the country woke up to find that all their wildest dreams had come true?

Adults Who Rarely or Never Attend Church More Likely to Cheat on Their Spouse: Study

(Link): Adults Who Rarely or Never Attend Church More Likely to Cheat on Their Spouse: Study

By Anugrah Kumar , Christian Post Contributor | Jan 14, 2018 9:27 AM

Adults who didn’t grow up in intact families, and those who rarely or never attend religious services are more likely than others to have cheated on their spouse, according to a new study.

The study, (Link): “Who Cheats More? The Demographics of Infidelity in America,” found that the rate of infidelity among those who attend a worship service at least once a week or several times a month or a year is 14 percent, as oppose to 19 percent among those who attend a religious service once a year or less.

A person’s political identity and family background are also related to whether or not they cheat, said the study released last week by Wendy Wang, director of research at the Institute for Family Studies.
