The Shiny, Happy People Program about Bill Gothard and the Duggar Family on Prime – Why Women Stay In These Awful Marriages and the Victim Blaming Aimed at Them by Christian Abuse Survivor Advocates

A few days ago, Amazon Prime made available a several program long commentary and investigation into the Duggar family (of “19 Kids and Counting” fame), as well as the teachings the Duggars followed, which were created by Bill Gothard and IBLP (Institute in Basic Life Principles) and ATI (Advanced Training Institute).

A lot of Christian parents raised their children under Gothard’s IBLP and ATI teachings, and many of them say as adults that they were damaged by those teachings.

Several of the women say when they were children or teens and worked under Gothard at his headquarters that they were sexually harassed. The show says at least one woman claims that Gothard, or his brother (I don’t recall which) raped her (the brother also worked with or for Gothard and this ATI / IBLP organization).

The purpose of my post here is not to give all the ins and outs of toxic Gothard teachings, but to note one or two aspects from the show. Before I do that, if you need or want some more background about any of this, here are a few links:

Before I get to the main point of this post – which would be “Christian abuse survivor advocates” who regularly harshly criticize Anna Duggar or women like her for staying in abusive marriages, I wanted to address one or two other issues first.

A female prisoner today warns of the dangers of putting transgender inmates in women’s jails after she was sexually assaulted by a paedophile rapist behind bars.

Laura Goldsmith, 38, revealed how she fell prey to notorious sex offender Karen White in HMP New Hall in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

In chilling echoes of the shocking case of transgender double rapist Isla Bryson being placed in an all-female jail in Scotland, Laura told how White was allowed to carry out a campaign of abuse in plain sight after being placed in the jail despite not having surgery and boasted how she was not having hormone treatment.

White was a convicted paedophile and serial sex offender on remand for grievous bodily harm.

White went on to be jailed for life after sexually assaulting two inmates at New Hall.

…Now Laura has come forward to reveal she too was a victim of the fiend when she was sent to the prison in February 2017 after being sentenced to 28 months for commercial burglary offences.

Laura told how she had been battling drug addiction and was ‘frail and vulnerable’ when White, 57, pounced after targeting her in the exercise yard.

Laura said White attacked her as she was sitting on a bench in the exercise yard one Saturday afternoon.

Laura, who is 5ft 3ins tall and weighed just seven stone, told how she was quickly intimidated by White’s presence.

She said: ‘She was very sleazy and forward. She tried to befriend me for two minutes – then came straight out with a sexual assault.

I do not have empathy for people in the United States who get into the nation illegally (that comment is NOT applicable to people sex trafficked or labor trafficked into the USA – I do have empathy for young people who are tricked or trafficked into the USA; they get here illegally, but they are being exploited by others into free labor or into being prostituted).

But stories like the one you see below is one reason of several why I do NOT support illegal immigrants (aside from the sex trafficked ones, etc), and I have no patience for the bleeding heart Democrats, ex-Trumpers (like Melody Kay Young),
Stephanie Drury and 99% of goons at her “Stuff Christian Culture Likes” Facebook group and other progressives,
who support illegal migrants and illegal immigration – such bleeding hearts are actually supporting not only negative ramifications for the United States, but they are supporting sex trafficking.

If I have the time and energy, I’ve been intending on writing a more in-depth, comprehensive post on this blog about the breakdown of the American borders and the influx of illegal aliens (the southern border has been bad, but I’ve read recent news reports that migrants are now sneaking into the nation via the northern border too).

It absolutely infuriates me to see the hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens pour into our nation – and the cherry on top is that the Democrats host these migrant idiots (some of whom are ingrates) in fancy hotels and so on.

Some of these illegals are rapists, child molesters, or are on the terror watch list. I do not want any of these criminals who are human trash in the United States.

And the Democrats don’t care. (The Republicans haven’t done near enough to stop this, either.) But the Democrats seem way more lax and accepting of illegal immigration than the Republicans.

HOUSTON, Texas — A woman residing illegally in the United States pleaded guilty this week before a federal judge to sex trafficking involving the use of force, fraud, or coercion of both adult and minor females. The victims were forced to perform commercial sex acts in a cantina in Houston.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas announced that Maria Botello-Morales, a 56-year-old woman residing illegally in Houston, appeared before a federal judge and pleaded guilty to several sex trafficking crimes, according to a statement obtained from U.S. Attorney Alamdar S. Hamdani.

The crimes included the use of force, fraud, or coercion to induce at least two adult women and a 17-year-old minor female from Mexico to have sex with customers at the Puerto Alegre cantina in Houston.

There was fury today after a transgender rapist attacked two women as a man then changed gender before the trial.

Isla Bryson was a shaven-headed Adam Graham with a Mike Tyson-style face tattoo when they carried out the violent sex attacks in 2016 and 2019 after abusing the victims they originally met online.

Bryson, who claimed to have had gender issues since the age of four, began transitioning from a man to a woman in 2020 after being charged with the rapes.

The attacker denied the accusations, telling jurors any sex was consensual – although Bryson insisted she [he] did not like sleeping with women and they made the ‘first move’.

There was no reference to the 31-year-old having a gender recognition certificate during the trial.

It is understood Bryson is being held in a segregation unit at Cornton Vale women’s prison, where the attacker will be risk assessed ahead of sentencing to see where she [he] will serve her term.

Today Bryson was found guilty of the two rapes.

A Victorian equality advocate has called for a rape victim to be ‘spat on at every opportunity’ after she objected to attending support sessions with a transgender woman who dressed and acted like a man.

Victorian Women’s Trust board member Leena van Deventer tweeted that a British rape victim ‘should be spat on at every opportunity’ because she launched legal action against The Survivors’ Network.

The victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, alleged indirect discrimination against the welfare organisation after it insisted the transgender woman sit-in on rape support sessions.

An enraged van Deventer  – a  writer and video game developer who has taught at RMIT and Swinburne University – doubled down on the victim, following up with another vicious tweet where she labelled her a ‘sh*theel’.

‘I hope she falls into a well,’ van Deventer tweeted.

The Victorian Women’s Trust had been operating for 36 years solely supporting women and girls – until six years ago when it began to include gender diverse people, including biological men who identify as women.

And let this go to show that my fellow conservatives are in very deep, grave error in combatting anti-nuclear family, anti-marriage rhetoric by progressives by perpetuating falsehoods about the benefits of marriage.

Contrary to what most “family values” conservatives argue, marriage does not make every person who marries (or who becomes a parent) more ethical, godly, loving, or responsible.

The Bible does not teach that being married heals sin, or that marriage (or being a parent) stops a person from sinning.

The Bible teaches the only “cure” for sin is acceptance of Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Some of the men charged with raped mentioned in the article below also have biological children with those wives; these men are fathers, but parenthood did not make them more godly, mature, loving, or ethical.

Let such news stories also go to show that God is not with-holding spouses from single adults who don’t meet certain criteria. Contrary to what some teaching by Christians about marriage says, a person doesn’t have to be godly, perfect, or wonderful to “merit” a spouse from God.

One woman was raped several times over a period of at least seven years by different men while unconscious, having been drugged and blindfolded by her husband, Channel News Asia reports.

The case came about when the woman found naked pictures of herself in a chat on her husband’s phone.

The four men, who are under gag orders placed by the court, pleaded guilty on Monday to two charges each of conspiracy to rape, with various other charges taken into consideration.

They are K, M, L and N.

According to Channel News Asia, the main accomplice linked to their cases is a fifth man, J, who married his wife in 2008 and with whom he has four children.

A mother in India allegedly sliced off her boyfriend’s penis on Wednesday after he tried to rape her 14-year-old daughter.

The woman, 36, has not been named in reporting, had lived with her boyfriend for two years after separating from an alcoholic husband. She came home after a day working on a farm and said she caught her boyfriend “red-handed.”

A grown man with male genitals goes into the lady’s locker room at the YMCA with a women’s swimsuit on and watches little girls change out of their swimsuits, and then an old lady who reported him is the one banned from the gym.

I don’t even think the Village People ever imagined something like this happening at the YMCA.

Uber has launched a new in-app feature that allows its women and non-binary drivers to indicate a preference for accepting women-rider-only trip requests.

The rideshare company has added the Women Rider Preference to provide its drivers with more choice over the rides they accept and give them more confidence to drive during optimum earning hours, like in the evening.

It is accessible through the Uber Driver app and allows female and non-binary drivers to indicate a preference to only pick up women.

Drivers who identify as female and non-binary will automatically have access to the feature.
