Some on the Left Are Worried That the Transgender Craze Has Gone ‘Too Far’

Transgender orthodoxy has moved so far past the bounds of sanity that any attempt to question its effects is quickly discouraged and punished.

We are expected to shut up and accept that public schools are passing policies to keep students’ gender identity transitions from parents, that medical professionals (Link): can file to remove children from their parents’ custody if parents oppose physical and chemical transition efforts, that a young man competed on a women’s swimming team and took home a women’s championship title, and that a man who claimed to identify as a woman was allowed into a women’s prison where he (Link): impregnated two of his fellow prisoners .

None of this is normal or even remotely defensible, and everyone, including many on the Left, know it.

Few on the Left, however, are willing to say so out loud …

…And healthcare professionals who are now being encouraged by the Biden administration to alter the bodies physically and chemically of gender-confused minors are starting to raise concerns about the permanence of such drastic interventions and ask whether there is any data to back them up at all.

One of these medical experts is Erica Anderson, a transgender doctor who has been at the forefront of transgender care in the U.S. and recently spoke out against administering hormone therapy or other irreversible treatments to youths.

“I think it’s gone too far,” Anderson (Link): said . “For a while, we were all happy that society was becoming more accepting and more families than ever were embracing children that were gender variant. Now it’s got to the point where there are children presenting at clinics whose parents say, ‘This just doesn’t make sense.’
I have these private thoughts: ‘This has gone too far. It’s going to get worse. I don’t want any part of it. I worry that people will accuse me of setting the train in motion, as part of those who advocated the affirmative approach to gender in youth, even though that’s not a reasonable account of what happened.’”

Anderson is far from the only expert concerned about the radical trajectory transgenderism has taken.

One Woman’s Story of Becoming a Trans Boy and Later Detransitioning

One Woman’s Story of Becoming a Trans Boy and Later Detransitioning

by John Sexton

I saw people praising this piece on Twitter and wound up reading the entire thing. It offers a detailed and revealing first person perspective on how a teenage girl could go from mocking SJW’s to deciding that she was trans and needed to start living as a boy to be happy.

Not surprisingly, one of the key drivers in this story was social media where as a young teen Helena discovered a fantasy world inhabited by unhappy teen girls (Link): just like herself.

I developed an obsession with classic rock, and while searching the internet for photos of young Elvis Presley I found a website called Tumblr. I immediately noticed that on Tumblr, there were many accounts posting about 50s, 60s, and 70s artists and that best of all, they were other teenage girls.

I made an account and began posting scans of some vintage pop magazines I had bought off eBay, and soon enough, these accounts were following me back. Between sharing photos, drawings, and fanfiction, these girls were posting about their lives and going into deep detail about their struggles.

Many were social outcasts like me, also struggling with things like self-harm and eating disorders. Finding a community of such like minded people felt amazing, and I quickly began spending nearly every waking moment on Tumblr or messaging some friend I had met on there…

A major aspect of Tumblr culture has always been social justice ideology. Things that are now being played out and witnessed by the general public on platforms like Twitter and TikTok, like dissociative identity disorder LARPers, demisexuals, neopronouns, otherkin, and everything you see on @LibsOfTikTok, have long existed in an uncannily identical form on tumblr.com.

The oppression hierarchy of racial and gender identities now being written into law in many of our once serious nations was the state religion of the People’s Republic of Tumblr long before your political junkie uncle knew the term “CRT”.

As cultish religions tend to operate, open devotion to the religion is mandatory. Perhaps the outsiders most likely to understand the way social dynamics worked on that website would be survivors of Scientology or the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

On Tumblr, the situation was such that any claim to being “oppressed” would accumulate social credibility, while any unfortunate “privileged” status was justification for verbal abuse.

As a “privileged” person, you were expected to constantly grovel and apologize, you had no right to speak on any issue involving the group you were “oppressing”, and you could not object in any way to any mistreatment hurled against you because of your race, gender, or sexuality.

Helena, a white, boy-obsessed teenage girl from a middle class family, was privileged.

However, she soon discovered there was an exception to the ordinary hierarchy on Tumblr.

Anyone who identified as trans was almost instantly met with respect (Link): and affirmation.

A male who identified as a lesbian and had the sole lesbian representative removed from Baltimore’s LGBTQ Commission while pushing lesbophobic sentiment in 2018 has quietly detransitioned.

Kodah Pipitone, once known as Ava, was instrumental in having lesbian advocate Julia Beck kicked off the commission and shunned as a “TERF,” then sponsored an event which advertised that “exclusionary” lesbians would be “hung [sic] by their necks.”

We’re Lesbians on the Autism Spectrum. Stop Telling Us to Become Men by J. Peters

We’re Lesbians on the Autism Spectrum. Stop Telling Us to Become Men by J. Peters

Liberals and progressives complained for years that Christians think that homosexual and lesbian persons should “pray the gay away,” but you now what some of the liberals and most of the progressives do? They encourage lesbians to give up their lesbian identity, to “transgender the gay away.”

Often, and as I’ve said before in other posts, liberals and progressives are no different, or necessarily any better than the evangelicals, Republicans, Trump voters, and conservative Christians they insult and judge all the time.

Excerpts:

If there was ever a case for a trans child, I was it. Let’s take a look at the DSM-5 guidelines and its diagnostic definition of gender dysphoria, followed by descriptions of my own experience:

A strong desire to be of the other gender or insistence that one is the other gender.

When I was in kindergarten, my teacher called home to express serious concern that I was developmentally confused, due to my insistence on lining up with the boys to go to the bathroom.

Well into adolescence, I went to great pains to “pass” as a boy and even got reprimanded for going into women’s restrooms. I liked this, considering it a sign of my success.

A strong preference for wearing clothes typical of the opposite gender.

When I was in first grade, I began refusing to wear my hair long or to dress in anything other than boys’ blue jeans and polo shirts, or similar attire. This “phase” lasted through my junior year of high school, when I finally accepted (following a long and arduous puberty) that I would never “pass” again.

A strong preference for the toys, games, or activities stereotypically used or engaged in by the other gender.

My favorite toys were action figures, dinosaur figurines, sports equipment, and fake weapons.

[The author goes on to mention she often fantasized about looking like a man, for one reason of several, so that other women would find her attractive]

…Here’s the thing: I was saved by the grace of discovering this phenomenon [transgenderism] too late. By then, I was 20 years old, and had already found ways to cope with my so-called gender dysphoria that didn’t involve turning myself into a lifelong pharmaceutical patient, or subjecting my already fragile body to more and more unnecessary surgeries.

…In short, I did exactly what the trans community was telling me to do: I educated myself, using their preferred sources and their firsthand reports of their experiences.

The result, however, was not what they intended. The more sources I read, the more questions I had, with none of my previous questions being answered in the process.

Is the Tide Finally Turning Against Trans Mania? Feminists Were Right To Sound the Alarm by Jo Bartosch

More people are waking up to the threat trans ideology poses to women’s rights.

…But today many others are coming round to the view that trans ideology really does pose a problem.

And no wonder. After all, the news is punctuated with stories of violent male offenders being sent into women’s prisons because they claim they are ‘women on the inside’.

Over the past five years alone, the number of those who identify as transgender in the prison population has increased by approximately 175 per cent.

It seems reasonable to surmise that in earlier decades physically intact men who dress as women would have been labelled run-of-the-mill transvestites, and not a vulnerable minority in need of legal protection.

And then there are the detransitioners.

Transgender Regret Is So Prevalent That Even the Mainstream Media Is Recognizing It Now

Excerpts:

One thing that has always haunted the transgender trend is the regret that many feel after they’ve had transitional surgeries or hormone treatments done to them.

Mainstream media sources were more or less terrified of discussing it, and even universities were afraid of looking into it out of fear of backlash from the LGBT community.
