The West Needs a Better System for Identifying Radical Islamists by Tawfik Hamid

The following piece was written by a Muslim who is a self-identifying ex-Islamic Jihadist.

(I conveyed some of the same sentiments as he does in his WSJ article in blog posts here years ago, and on my SoloLoner Twitter account, but the clowns 🤡 at progressive Christian Stephanie Drury’s “Stuff Christian Culture Likes” Facebook group ripped on me years ago for saying the same thing this Muslim guy does here):

Excerpts:

The West needs a better system for identifying radical Islamists and cutting out the religious underpinnings of jihad.

September 10, 2021

Twenty years ago, 19 of my fellow Arab Muslims carried out the worst foreign attack on American soil in history.

Slipping into the country legally and apparently without raising alarm bells among our intelligence and law-enforcement communities, these members of al Qaeda, a radical Islamist group bent on jihad, crashed two commercial airliners into New York’s World Trade Center towers and a third plane into the Pentagon.

They failed with a fourth aircraft because of the actions of courageous and selfless passengers. As a result, nearly 3,000 people were murdered that day, and many more have succumbed to related injuries in the ensuing years.

I mention all this not to recall the obvious, but to make the point that such immense harm to our nation could be effected by a small group of dedicated terrorists.

Yet now, in the name of protecting Afghan nationals who helped our military and intelligence services—and of providing the prospect of better lives to the hundreds of thousands who stream across our southern border this year—we have created conditions favorable to another, perhaps much deadlier terror attack on the U.S.

Sad but true: In the 20 years since 9/11, we have continuously worked to fight only the symptoms of what transpired that horrible day.

[The author goes on to list steps that the U.S. government did to combat Islamic terrorism in the aftermath of 9/11]

Yet here we are, on Sept. 11, 2021, still vulnerable to the same sort of act that transpired 20 years ago despite our enormous expenditure of treasure and precious blood. I guarantee you, among those who are entering our shores and crossing our borders are men hell-bent on dwarfing 9/11 and declaring another victorious jihad.

How do I know this? I was once one of them.

‘The Taliban Will Enjoy Killing Us’: Gay Man Trapped in Afghanistan Says Extremists ‘Are Hunting Us’

Bear in mind as you read this story below that many American liberals and leftists often…

– especially the ex-Christians, or the guys who use the “Exvie” (ex-evangelical) tags on Twitter, or some of the Facebook groups that rant about Christian spiritual abuse and in favor of leftist identity politics –

…behave as though American evangelical Christians or Republicans are the biggest threats to homosexuals.

Aside from homosexuals, the Taliban (Muslim extremists) don’t like Christians; I just heard the other day that Christians trying to flee Afghanistan say that if the Taliban catches a Christian, they will set a living Christian on fire.

I’d be a little less concerned if someone won’t use my “pronouns” or refuses to bake me a wedding cake over my sexual identity or behavior, and more concerned over being shot or burned alive by Muslim extremists for political or religions disagreements.

A gay man trapped in Kabul has said the Taliban ‘are hunting us’ as he gave a harrowing description of what a life under the extremists’ rule would look like for the LGBTQ+ community.

The man, whose identity has been concealed for his own safety, said the Taliban would take pleasure in hunting down and killing LGBTQ+ people in an exclusive interview with MailOnline.

Washington Post: Why Didn’t Biden Plan to Get Female Activists Out of Afghanistan?

Washington Post: Why Didn’t Biden Plan to Get Female Activists out of Afghanistan?

So, for all the Never Trumpers (which would include former Southern Baptist Beth Moore) and the liberals and leftists who claim to be against sexism, to claim they were repulsed by Trump’s “grab ’em” line, I’d like for you to grapple with Democrat failure of women – this botched withdrawl was carried out under a Democratic Party administration (Joe Biden’s), with the first ever woman Vice President, Kamala Harris.

Good question. The need to protect women and children from the depravity of the Taliban’s seventh-century ideology had been one of the driving forces for sustained American engagement in Afghanistan.

That includes Barack Obama as well as the two Republican presidents who bookended his administration.

Now, however, the NGOs and activists encouraged by those policies to work in Afghanistan find themselves stuck in the collapse, the Washington Post reports. It takes quite a few paragraphs to get to the reason why, however:

While the administration in recent weeks has acted to accelerate the processing of SIV applicants and began airlifting applicants and their families out of Afghanistan, it has not done so for others who might be targeted by the Taliban because of their affiliation with international organizations but who are not eligible for the SIV program.

Several people involved in the evacuation effort said they were shocked by the Biden administration’s lack of preparation for the possibility that female activists and other vulnerable Afghans would be at risk and require aid — especially given how central the issue of women’s rights has been to the U.S. project in Afghanistan.

It was an effort cited by successive American presidents as a justification for the U.S. presence. …

Amed Khan, a New York-based philanthropist and human rights advocate who has been working to evacuate at-risk Afghans, said that between the SIV applicants, women’s rights activists and other allies, thousands of people have “risked their lives implementing our agenda for the last 20 years.”
