Women: Stop Asking Pat Robertson For Romantic Relationship Advice

Women: Stop Asking Pat Robertson For Romantic Relationship Advice – Whether You Are Divorced or Single

Aug 16, 2016 edit: Just a few days after I made this post imploring women to stop asking Robertson for romantic relationship advice, Robertson did this:

Then Robertson turned around and did this – November 2016 edit:

Yep. This is why I beg you, women of the world: stop going to Pat Robertson with dating, singleness, divorce, or marriage questions! You are not going to get valuable advice or empathy for your problems, but a lot of victim-blaming and shaming.

So, yesterday (August 2, 2016), on the TV show “The 700 Club,” Christian host Pat Robertson fielded a question from some woman who wrote in saying she had been divorced four times (I placed two videos of that segment in this post, towards the end).

If I understand the woman’s letter correctly, she says she accepted Christ as her savior, or turned to God, after her fourth divorce.

She said her first four husbands were abusive. She wants to know, now that she has rededicated her life to God, will God send her a loving husband?

Look, I knew before Pat ever opened his mouth how he would answer this woman. And I cringed in anticipation. And I was right about his reply.

I’ve watched The 700 Club every single day since the year 2005, and off and on prior to that. My mother used to watch his show when I was a kid, so I was exposed to it back then. I suppose I still watch it out of habit.

I have seen so many episodes of this show, I already can tell you how Robertson is going to answer before he opens his mouth, and I am correct about 90% of the time (regarding relationship questions he receives).

More often than not, if you are a woman and you write Pat Robertson for relationship advice, especially if you have been divorced, he will most likely blame you. He will tell you that you have a “failed relationship picker” and you should stay single.  He figures that since you have failed at marriage once or twice before, there is little sense in trying again, because you will only fail again.

Robertson will shame and blame you for having married abusers, duds, and losers.

Robertson is also not kind to single women over 40 who have never married but who would like to marry.

Howard Married to Flirty Wife Who Had Affair – Pat Robertson’s Insensitive Advice

Howard Married to Flirty Wife Who Had Affair – Pat Robertson’s Insensitive Advice

Watch the video to get the context, it’s the first letter in the video:

(Link): Howard has a cheating spouse

Whoa, there Pat.

All Howard said is that their sexual relationship doesn’t exist. Howard does not say why this is so, but Pat just assumes it’s because Howard is holding a grudge over his wife’s 25 years ago affair, so he is with-holding sex. But Howard doesn’t say that is why they’re not having sex.

Pat then goes on to tell Howard if you with hold sex from your wife, you are asking her to cheat.

No, Pat, no. I don’t buy excuses for affairs. I don’t care if a guy has been withholding sex from his wife, that doesn’t give her a right to get it outside of the marriage.

If she needs it that bad, she can divorce his ass and marry some dude who will boink her.

Also, masturbation is not a new concept (that is, she can get herself off, which IMO, is not a form of adultery, so she gets her sexual kicks met without sleeping with another guy, everybody wins. Unless it’s Howard who is sexless because the wife won’t boink him, in which case, say hello to masturbation, Howard, it can work for you too).

But Howard never tells us why he and the misses aren’t knocking boots anymore.

Howard does make one brief statement at the end of his letter like, “God says forgive, maybe I haven’t.”

Pat really grabs latches on to that to blame Howard up the ying yang and tells Howie he’s holding on to a grudge and to let go of it.

Pat also says, “God has forgiven her if she has asked him to.”

More speculation by Pat. The letter does not mention if the wife asked God to forgive her. We don’t even know if she’s asked her spouse to forgive her, if I am remembering the letter right.

It’s Almost Always “Mary” on The 700 Club Show – What Is Up With That?

It’s Almost Always “Mary” on The 700 Club Show

I watch The 700 Club TV almost every single day. I don’t know why. I just do.

There’s this part on the show where Pat Robertson and his co-host will pray for people in the audience.

Pat Robertson will sometimes call the person by name.

He might say, “And Hank… there is a ‘Hank’ out there asking for a healing from cancer.”

I’ve noticed that almost any time Robertson prays for a woman or a girl, he almost always says her name is “Mary” (or occasionally “Marie” or “Maria”), but it’s almost always “Mary.”

Today’s show was no exception.

When he prayed for someone in the audience, he said something like, “There is a five year old girl watching, I think her name is Mary, and she is upset that blah blah blah and is praying that God will help her with yada yada yada….”

I stopped listening closely after he mentioned her name.

About a week ago, Robertson was praying for someone in the audience, this time, it was an adult woman.

I can’t remember what the prayer was about, if it was for a healing or financial help, or whatever, but he said, “And there’s a woman named Mary, and she is praying for blah blah…”

In the past few years, I’ve heard him use “Mary” as the name of the person on his show.

I realize that “Mary” is a popular name, or once was at some point, but it seems almost every time I watch this show and Robertson prays for a woman (or a girl), he always says her name is “Mary.”

What is up with that?

Why does he never direct the prayer to women or girls named

  • Hannah, Becky, Tiffany, Amber, Britney, Sandra, Julia, Roberta, Peg, Marge, Christine, Rosa, Teresa, Eva, Patricia, Gabriela, Susanna, Katie, Robin, Heather, Sam, Nicole, Linda, Jackie, Bonnie, Edith, Ellen, Monica, Paige, Lois, Jill, Erin, Alicia, Geraldine, Clara, Rhonda, Gail, Wanda, Lisa, Gloria, Joyce, Ruth, Janet, Kathleen, Amy, Melissa, Brenda,

and I could go on and on?

Then you have more unusual names, like parents naming their daughters “Nutella” or “Shanequa.”

There are other names besides “Mary.” But Robertson almost always goes for “Mary” at prayer time on his show.
