Babies? Margot Robbie Is Fed Up With Getting Sexist Questions About Them by S. Hass
“When are you going to have a baby?”
It’s a question that makes most women cringe. Count Margot Robbie among them.
The actress, who stars as Queen Elizabeth I in the film “Mary Queen of Scots,” says she’s fed up with the sexist inquiry.
The 16th-century queen didn’t have any children and faced a lot of pressure to produce an heir. Five hundred years later, Robbie told Radio Times magazine, “Unfortunately, it’s a conversation we’re still having.
“I got married (to filmmaker Tom Ackerley, in 2016), and the first question in almost every interview is ‘Babies? When are you having one?’ “
The 28-year-old “I, Tonya” actress said the question makes her “so angry.”
“How dare some old guy dictate what I can and can’t do when it comes to motherhood or my own body?”
We’re right there with you, Margot.
Moral of the story? Just don’t ask. It’s rude.
